Iván Duque Márquez is a Colombian lawyer, writer and
politician, right now is working as a president of Colombia for
the Democratic Center Party. He served as Senator of the
Republic of Colombia from July 20, 2014 until April 10, 2018.
Iván, in the words of his friends, is "a bacán", for his good
humor, it is easy and contagious laughter. He is enjoying
sharing his ideas and position on the future of Colombia. He is
a musician and likes to play the guitar to remember his rocker
days. He´s a good conversationalist and even better questioner,
do not rest until you learn something new and interesting.
However, at the end of the day this is secondary to the
possibility of sharing as a family, playing with their children
and educating them; dialogue with his wife and support her in
her projects. He´s taking care of his mom and keep learning
from her. Ivan is missing his father and honor his memory.
Iván is still a normal Colombian: serious, conservative,
familiar, committed, hardworking, friendly, curious and
recursive. In addition, he is a great reader, lover of books,

conviction of work to build a Colombia with opportunities for

He is moving forward to join the political life for the love of
his country, for conviction and for his vocation of public

with his passion for numbers, leading him to have a strategic
vision of financial management exercised in Colombia and
abroad.

THE PRESIDENT OF COLOMBIA IVAN DUQUE MARQUEZ

Ivan Duque always gets up early every morning, he eats breakfast and he checks his
commitments of the day. He goes to work about 8:00 a.m. He usually has meetings at work
for discuss and share opinion about how to contribute to the different situations of
Colombia and he sometimes has lunch with his workmates. He occasionally goes to civic
events for give support to the cultural activities of the country. He rarely makes statements
live. Also, he always has meetings with government officials, and the president often must
make visits to the departments and cities of Colombia and he usually makes community
councils in the departments of Colombia

Currently the president works in the palace of Nariño. In the house of Nariño there are
many rooms with names of personages of the history of Colombia, and there are some
bedrooms where the president sleeps his family and the people of domestic work, besides,
there are some offices where the president works and some of his minister’s work.

Also, in the president's office there is a brown desk, first on the desk there are three
telephones, a private telephone line of the president and two general telephone lines, too,
there is a gray laptop and a black desktop computer, besides, there is a gray printer with
blue; in the second place there are many family portraits, there are some objects of work
for example, first there are many documents to read, too, there are 5 pens, there are 2
pencils, there are some notebooks, and secondly there are several staplers, there are 2 pencil
sharpeners, there is a box of clips and finally there are some capes with important
documents.
On the other hand, we found that there are three desk chairs, metropolitan style and brown
color, also in front of the president's desk there is a sofa with three gray furniture, which
are to receive visitors, in addition, there are three pictures, There is one Simon Bolivar,
another Antonio Nariño and finally Francisco de Paula Santander, following the tour of the
president's office we see that there are some mirrors, we also find that there are several
coffee tables, on the tables there are vases with flowers of various types .

Continuing the tour in the presidential office we find that there is a medium library with

more honest about the realization of his propositions, and obviously be clearer about them
because he said he wouldn't approve fracking, and as soon as he became the president he
approved it. He should stop the practice of hydraulic fracturing, fracking at least for respect
to all the people who voted for him, and he should respect the environment and nature of
this beautiful country too. In other place, Ivan Duque should improve the budget of
education as an answer to the student's strikes, it is a fair cause. Finally, he might be more
respectful when he talks about the people who has different ideas from those he has because
it is important that the person who represents a whole country be respectful in front of
everyone, it doesn't matter if he doesn't agree the thoughts of some people, anyway he must
respect them, Also He could contribute to the creation of spaces to apply for postgraduate
scholarships, nationally or internationally for professionals of all areas and the Mr. President,
could listen and be more attentive to the needs of people from Colombia.
