3. Four students A, B, C and D stand facing each other in a circle and each
student puts on a colour hat. These hats have been randomly chosen from
2 red, 2 yellow and 2 green hats. Each student can only see the other
three students’ hats.
A says : “I do not see a green hat.”
B says : “I see two students wearing the same colour hats.”
C says : “I see three different colour hats.”
D says : “Neither A nor C is wearing a red hat.”
What colour hat is each student wearing?

4. There are three different packaging of sweets which contains three
different types of sweets.

If John buys 1 packet of A and 1 packet of B, he needs to pay RM 1.00. He


needs to pay RM 0.90 if he buys 1 packet of A and 1 packet of C, whereas
1 packet of B and 1 packet of C will cost him RM 1.10. How much does he
need to pay if he buys one packet of each type of sweets?

5. There are ten cards with numbers 1 to 10. Ben takes two cards each time
without repetition and computes the difference by using the larger
number minus the smaller number. What is the maximum possible sum of
the five differences?

6. In a squence numbers, the first three numbers are 100, 80, 90, … which
the third number is the average of the two preceding numbers. The fourth
number is the average of the three preceding numbers. The fifth number
will be the average of the four preceding numbers.The patterns will
continue. Find the sum of the first 100 numbers.

7. Suppose all the counting numbers are written in columns in the pattern
shown. Name the letter of the column in which the number 2019 will
appear.

8. 729 small cubes are used to make a larger cube that measures 9 × 9 × 9.
The external faces of the larger cube are painted red and the cube is
dismantled.
How many of the small cubes will have exactly two faces painted red?

9. Mr. Chong always saves 25% of his income. When his income increases by
5%, his saving increases by RM48. Find his new income.

10. Sunil and Raju shared a total of 45 books. When their teacher gave each
of them 9 more books, Sunil had 25% more books than Raju. Find the
number of books Raju has at first.

11. Fill the number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 in the circle as shown in the diagram
such that the sum of the four numbers in the circle, horizontal straight
line and the three numbers on the vertical straight line are equal. What is
the possible number in circle “A”?

12. The average mark of a class in an exam is 78. Four pupils get 0 mark. The
average mark of the remaining pupils is 90. How many pupils are there in
the class?

13. How many triangles are there in the diagram below?

14. 2019 pencils are divided among a number of children so that each child
gets at least one pencil and all children get a different number of pencils.
What is the maximum number of pencils that one of the children can get?

15. A and B are two different numbers selected from the first 2019
counting numbers from 1 to 2019 inclusive. What is the largest value

16. Two cubes are joined together as shown below. An ant wants to crawl
from point A to point B and it can only crawl along the edges. Find the
number of shortest paths for the ant to reach point B.

17. Arun, Burhan and Chee were given some funfair tickets to sell. Each
ticket was priced at RM6. Burhan sold 2 of the tickets. Arun and Chee

sold the remaining tickets in the ratio of 1 : 2 respectively. Burhan sold
70 tickets more than Arun. How much money did they collect altogether?

18. A 5-digit number minus the sum of its 5 digits is ̅̅̅̅̅̅̅̅

possible value of the digit x ?

19. Sherry has a 5 x 5 square grid in her garden which she is trying to place
as many flower pots as possible.

No more than one flower pot may be placed on any square and no more
than four pots on any row, column or diagonal. What is the maximum
number of flower pots she can place in this way?

20. Three grades of coffee powder priced at RM6, RM9 and RM12 per
kilogram are mixed in the ratio 3 : 5 : 7 respectively. Find the cost of
10 kilogram of this mix coffee powder.

21. There are four houses along a certain lane. On a specific day, the
postman has to deliver a parcel each to the owner of every house. In how
many ways can the parcels be delivered wrongly whereby NONE of the
owner gets his own parcel?

22. Three waitresses, Kim, Winnie and Anne, were supposed to share equally

the tips in a container. At the end of a working day, Kim took of the

tips from the container and left. Winnie, who did not realize that Kim

had taken her share, took of the remaining money from the container.

After that, Anne, who did not know that her friends had taken their

share, came to the container and took of the remaining money; leaving

behind RM 18 for her friends. What was the total amount of tips in the
container in the beginning?

23. Diagram below shows three squares, I, II and III. The area of square I
is 36 cm2 and the area of square II is 64 cm2.

24. Ali’s class has more than 35 pupils but less than 50 pupils. In a Science
Test, the average mark of the class is 78. The average mark of the boys
is 75.5 and the average mark of the girls is 81. Find the number of pupils
in the class.

25. Mr. Azmi wrote a set of consecutive numbers on the whiteboard, starting
from 1. He then erased one number from the set and the average of the

remaining numbers is 38 . What number is erased?

You are in box 1 and may go directly from a box to any other adjacent
box of a higher number. Thus, from box 1 you have one way to get to box
2, but two ways to get to box 5 ( 1  5 or 1  2  5 ). With these
restriction, in how many different ways can you go from box 1 to box 10?

27. On my flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, the following information
is shown on the screen in the passengers cabin:

Current speed : 720km/h


Distance from departure : 670 km
Time to destination : 1 h 20 min

If the plane continues to fly at the same speed, find the distance, in km,
from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu.
[Ignore the take-off and landing time for the plane.]

28. ABCD is a rectangle with sides 8 cm and 6 cm. AC, AF, BD, BF, CE and DE
are straight lines. Point E and Point F are the midpoints of AB and CD
respectively. Find the area, in cm2, of the shaded region.

29. The sum of digits for 1957 is 1+9+5+7 = 22.
What is the sum of digits for the answer of 102019-2019?

30. A rubber ball falls vertically from the roof of a house, at a height of

10m. After each impact on the ground it bounces back up to of its

previous height. How many times will the ball appear in front of a
rectangular window whose top edge is at a height of 6m and the bottom
edge is at a height of 5m from the ground?
