through the website

b. Products Manufactured or Services Provided
c. Location
d. Work Timings
e. Weekly Offs
f. Holidays / Leaves given
g. Salary Dates
h. Name of the Proprietor / Owner

2. Go through the Job Description


a. Understand the Position / Designation given
b. Salary Offered Per Month
c. Qualification / Education Required
d. Experience Required
e. Age Criteria
f. Industry / Company Background
g. Job Responsibilities
i. Make 1 criteria for each area of exposure (To ask while taking the interview)
ii. See if it requires People Management Responsibility
iii. See if it requires Traveling
iv. See if it requires working in Shifts
v. See if it requires the person to have vehicle (2 wheeler)
h. Personality
i. Fluency in English
ii. Presentable / Good Looking
i. Gender Preference (For understanding and working – do not tell it to candidates or
advertise on job boards / social media)
j. Software Knowledge if any
k. Residence Area Preferred, if any

3. How to read a CV
a. Check Name – (Same person can present his profiles with different names, ending up
same interview twice – even after getting rejected)
b. Date of Birth for Age – (Complete date of birth, includes year as well – to understand
the age. Employment is not allowed below 18 years of age)
c. Gender
d. Qualification –
i. Clarify whether the qualification mentioned is completed or is still being
pursued.
ii. Year of completing each qualification, SSC, HSC, Graduation, PG, Diploma –
Check for Gaps & Reasons for the same
iii. Whether the course pursued is Full Time / Part Time / Correspondence Course

e. Experience
i. Study the sequence of employment – by checking the joining dates and
leaving dates.
1. If not mentioned properly – ask during the interview.
2. If there are gaps – check for the reasons for gaps.
3. If frequent jumps – Understand if the leaving of jobs is a decision the
person took or the company took
a. If taken by person – Understand the reasons – like Salary,
Shift Timings, Location, Harassment by Seniors or Colleagues,
Health Reasons, Salary not on time, Leave not given.
b. If taken by Company – Closed down, Shifted to a far off
location, Integrity, Lack of Performance (This 2 will never be
shared by candidates – so we will have to see if person is
leaving on his own without a concrete reason)
ii. Relevant Job Experience
1. For Accounts – Refer to the Job Description
2. For Sales, ask for –
a. Channels Handled – General Trade, Modern Trade, Retail,
Institutional Sales, Corporate Sales, Government Bodies, E
Commerce etc.
b. Sales Turnover Per Month
c. Territory / Area Managed
d. Products Handled

f. Salary
i. Current Salary – Understand the break up of Fixed + Incentive +
Reimbursements if any (Traveling Allowance, Daily Allowance, Railway Pass
etc)
ii. Salary Expectation from the next job
iii. Notice Period / Timing for joining. If someone says less than 1 month – then
check
1. if the person has already resigned from the current job and if so
a. whether he already has another job offer
b. why he has left without getting another job

g. Interview Preferences
i. Check when the candidate can go for an interview – Preferences if any
ii. Always take multiple dates and timings – so that if the interviewer is not
available on 1 date – he can be scheduled for another date.
