ICT Learning Tools

Kahoot

Kahoot was selected as an ICT resource in the first lesson as it is an engaging for students.

Kahoot is used a learning tool as students will be diagnostically assessed about their prior

knowledge. Students will be able to keep their attention on a Kahoot as it is a positively

competitive resource which motivates students to do their best.

QR Codes

QR codes was selected as an ICT resource, used in multiple lessons, as it is a quick way to

direct students to a certain website. QR codes is used as a learning tool as students will use

them to be directed to key websites which will assist with research.

Vengage

Vengage was chosen as an ICT resource in the first lesson as it is easy and appealing for

students to create their infographics. Students will be able to use Vengage as a learning tool as

they are able to visually place their knowledge of the lesson into an infographic.

Interactive Castle Siege Game

The interactive castle siege game was selected as an ICT resource in the second lesson as it

will be able to attract students to further knowledge about castle defences. The nature of the

game will engage students to have fun, whilst learning about the topic. This game is used as a

learning tool as it uses visual and written learning, so students will use their own knowledge

of the topic to figure out how to complete the game.


Socrative

Socrative was chosen as an ICT resource in the third lesson as it an effective tool for diagnostic

assessments. Students use this as a learning tool as they will be quizzed about their knowledge

on the past two lessons. Students will be able to work through the quiz individually, and

teachers will be able to either see students results on their own device.

Google Docs

Google Docs was chosen as an ICT resource in the third lesson as it allows students to share

their work with the teacher easily. Google doc is used as a learning tool for students as teachers

can share work easily with students, or students can use Google Docs to express their

knowledge with either the teacher, or other students.

SketchUp

SketchUp was selected as an ICT resource as the final assessment tool in the third lesson. This

free app is easily accessible for students on their iPads. SketchUp is used as a learning tool as

students will be creating their own diagram. Students will be using their prior knowledge and

planning to complete the final assessment using SketchUp.

Interactive Learning on Castles

Interactive learning on castles websites was chosen as an ICT resource as it an interesting and

engaging online tool for students. Students are able to use this as a learning tool as it allows

students to check their understandings about castles. Students are able to use written and visual

learning which assists students to complete their work as a fun activity.
