Design criteria variation order

Location: IRAQ-Erbil

According to the tender concept design loads we went to explain the loads that we prefer to use as
the following:
1. loads
 Dead loads:
 Sandwich panel loads = 0.09 kn/m2
 photovoltaic panels load = 0.2 kn/m2
 Other dead loads = 0.0.11 kn/m2
 Live loads:
according to IBC standard it the live loads (All roof surfaces subject to maintenance workers)
so, the live load will be 0.25 kn/m2.
 Snow loads:
Here in Iraq there is no standards or codes to determine carefully the snow loads, but according to
the location of the project which has Hight about 375 m from the sea level the maximum recognized snow
thickness is about 20 cm and by taking the density of the non-iced snow with the value 1.5 kn/m3 so the total
load will be 0.3 kn/m2 so we can but it 0.4 kn/m2 for maximum case.
Here in erbil we designed many projects fo different clients such as: U.S army, GKPI, DNO….
They all ordered the snow load to be not more than 0.4 kn/m2
 Wind speed:
According to UFC 3-301-01 we can take the design wind speed with 160 km/h.
That lead to the windward faces pressure about 0.55 kn/m2
2. Bays spacing
In addition to the loads we want to change the bays spacing from 7 m to 6 m for the storage hanger
only to make the project weight lower.
3. Sandwich panel specifications:
The specification which we can obtain it here in Iraq is as the following:
 Factory: Arihan – Zakho – Iraq.
 Density: 38 kg/m3
 Internal steel plate thick 0.4 mm.
 External steel plate 0.5 mm.
 All steel plats galvanized and preprinted and polyester coated.
