COURSE OUTCOMES:

CO1: To introduce machine drawing and different types of methods of projections, dimensioning,
sheet layout.
CO2: To understand sectional view of different mechanical parts.
CO3: Illustration of assembly drawing (temporary and permanent fasteners).
Machine Drawing Instructions (1st Year)
1. All drawing referred from book Machine Drawing by V. Laxminarayanan and M. L.
Mathur, Fifth Reprint 2015.
2. Drawing instruments and materials must to be brought: Sketch book, Pencils (HB, H,
2H,), Eraser, Cutter, Sharpener, Set square, Scales, Protector, Mini Drafter, Dividers (25
mm and 150 mm), Base paper, Clips (4 Nos), Drawing pins welded head, Emery paper
block, Compasses (25 mm and 250 mm), One cotton handkerchief, Sheet holder.
3. Drawing sheet size A3 (420 mm × 297 mm).
4. Left border margin should be 20 mm while remaining borders should have 10 mm margin
on drawing sheet.
5. Title box size 150 mm × 45 mm is used and it should be at bottom right corner of
drawing sheet.
6. Use HB pensile to draw title box and sheet borders only.
7. Name, Class, Group, F. No. to be written with ball pen.
8. All figures of drawing sheets must first be sketched in sketchbook.
9. Keep all drawing sheets and figures neat and clean.
10. Use proper dimensioning rules in drawing sheets.
11. Ensure that your respective lecturer signs all drawing sheets (before staring of drawing
work and after finishing of drawing work.
12. Late submission of drawing sheet will not be entertained.
