Hello Brandyce,

Great reply, I had not heard about the water filtration system, but it is good to hear that something is starting
to be done to alleviate the issue. The government really should be held fiscally responsible for not taking
steps to address the problem, and pollution remediation should be the next step. Without a good water
source, the people will likely boycott the city as you said, which could lead to unneeded liability for the city of
Flint. Considering the responsibilities of the city, DEQ, and EPA it is time for one of them to step into the
matter. The EPA should be enforcing the Clean Water Act (EWA) and the water in Flint certainly meets the
criteria covered in this act. It will be interesting to see what happens with this issue and whether it will be
resolved soon. I also look forward to seeing the eventual effect of the long-term liability of the pollution
on the city’s financial statements. Great reply!
