April 2019
Sorry this is a little late, no excuse. We are getting ready for the two Safety weekends coming up. Getting
all the paperwork together so that I don’t forget something, getting the VOLUNTEER instructors together
so everyone knows what to bring and don’t have to bring. It’s a fair amount of logistics. It all started last
year after completing the courses to make sure we conducted ourselves in a respectable manner while us-
ing the facilities that we get to use for free. These are public places so we must conduct ourselves accord-
ingly. So far so good. The Vandalia Safety weekend is slowing filling up, but still have some room. The
TRC course is full, no more room. The Road Captain Course has room for both Saturday and Sunday,
same is true for the Medic First Aid course. The ARC for Sunday has room for 4 more at this time. Ster-
ling is another story. We need some Trikes for the TRC on Saturday or we may have to cancel that course.
The Medic First Aid course for both Saturday and Sunday has plenty of room. The ARC for Sunday is
filling up and we have room for 4, but we have verbal commitment for 2 more for the class, that would
leave room for only 2 more. We put these on for you the membership to improve your skills, riding com-
fort, and pleasure. I am not complaining but disappointed that we have these trainers and it is not taken
advantage of. Jean Potwora has instructors at the ready to help your chapters to put on seminars or mod-
ules for learning.
We are going to make a decision about the Sterling TRC cutoff by April 6, 2019 as to whether we will
be able to have one. If you are considering about waiting to next year, we may not be holding one as we
are getting saturated with those that have taken it and won’t need it for 3 year from now.
Thanks
Need to get ahold of me don’t be afraid to call or e-mail. I f I don’t answer your call leave a message, I
will call you back. 618-292-4219 sbrungard2@yahoo.com

April fool’s day is on Monday. Be careful at

work Monday’s are ruff enough, add April
fool’s day and jokes will be flying. It will be
spring any day now. While you are waiting
just go out and look at the bike. Don’t un-
cover it yet, just look.
These next couple months will be busy with Firemen’s Breakfast.
The month starts off with Sunday April 7th Shannon and Polo.
Next breakfast is April 14th in Savanna. Chadwick will be on
April 28th. The very next Sunday is breakfast in Milledgeville on
May 5th. Let us know if you have one in your area.
When the weather warms up we could actually ride our wings to
breakfast for the public to see our motorcycles and us.
Think spring!
We will see you at the next breakfast or social.

It's April and the weather is starting to get nice. It's

warming up and we have started to get our bikes ready for a
long summer of riding and speaking of riding, we do have
stuff coming up.

On April 6, we have a ride to Pontiac for "Meet the Chapters". We will be leaving Casey's Gas in
Rock Falls at 8:30 Saturday morning and riding past Mendota and taking some back roads to
Pontiac. Should be there around 11:00 for lunch and then their meeting. The rest of the month,
we have a lot of dinner rides planned, so look in the newsletter and our web page for rides com-
ing up. At the end of April is the Southern Illinois Safety Weekend in Vandalia ARC & TRC
courses. On May 3-5 is the Northern Illinois Safety Weekend here in Sterling, IL. We need some
more trikes for Saturday TRC course, Sunday ARC looks better good.

At our next monthly meeting, we'll talk about our overnight weekend trip coming up in July 12-
14. Well that's about it for now. If you want to ride somewhere and with someone call them and
see if they are free.

Chapter G runs on Channel 10.

Witticisms from the:

Assistant Chapter Director
Matt Shore

What stays where it is when it goes off?

I am an instrument that you can hear, but you cannot touch or see me. What am I?

I am the beginning of the end, the end of every place. I am the beginning of eternity, the end of time
and space. What am I?

I am red, blue, purple and green. No one can reach me, not even the queen.
What am I?
