Purpose: This document helps to check whether Adobe Document Services (ADS) is

properly configured (both Non-Interactive and Interactive) in order to deploy Adobe


integrated applications.

Prerequisites: Adobe Document Services is installed in System Landscape and


Adobe Live Cycle Designer is installed in the local machine.

1. How to check whether ADS is installed in your system

a) Check whether an HTTP connection to External Server for ADS is maintained in


T-code SM59 as shown in Figure 1.

Then check whether Target Host/Path Prefix and Service Number entries are
maintained under Technical Settings.

Under Logon & Security Tab, check whether ADS is given username and password.

b) Once checked in the system, we can check whether ADS service has been offered
in Web Application Server (WAS). To access the WAS homepage type in the following

URL: http://<server name>:<Service Number>/wsnavigator/enterwsdl.html

and enter J2EE username and password for authentication.


Click on the Adobe Document Services and we can see the settings and information
provided for the ADS connection under SM59.
Click on Test and then click “rpdata” operation

Click Send and enter the ADS User name and Password as set in the Logon
information under SM59.
Upon Authentication, we can see the Adobe Document Services Version information.

The above checks confirm that ADS is installed with the provided Technical Settings
and Logon Information.
