The Signature Series SIGA-DMP Duct Detector Mounting Plate (DMP) is used to Installation Options
mount a smoke detector inside an air duct. The DMP provides screws for ALARM

mounting the detector base and includes a rubber gasket which forms an airtight
seal between the mounting plate and the duct. (2)

• For proper operation, only the specified detectors should be used with this
mounting plate. A detector that is not rated for the air velocities produced in 8 7 6

air ducts will not operate properly and may result in loss of life.
• The DMP is intended for use only in the three configurations shown in (7)

• Do not mount the DMP on the bottom side of a duct. This position will result (3)
in excessive dirt buildup in the detector and will adversely affect proper

To install the DMP:
1. Refer to the technical bulletin (P/N 270145) for installation guidelines.

2. Using the template provided in Figure 2, drill eight 1/16 in. (1.58 mm) holes
and cut out the 4-3/4 in. (12.07 cm) circle. (7)
3. Make sure the holes in the duct correctly align with the holes in the DMP. (5) ALARM

4. Remove the appropriate conduit knockout on the DMP.

5. Mount the base on the DMP as shown in Figure 1 and wire the base
according to the instructions provided with the base.

6. Choose installation option A, B, or C as shown in Figure 1, and mount the
components as shown.

7. Mount the DMP on the duct using eight #8-32 × 1/2 self-tapping screws
(provided). (9)
