Abstract 1
This year most of the people are busy with their works. They are forgetting to turn off the motor
even after the overhead tank gets overflowed due to which there is a wastage of water and the
power. Instead of using two controllers to operate two motor automatically for ON and OFF we
are using only one controller. And to know whether the tank is filled or not in case of building
with more than one floor it is impossible. So, our project water pump controller to minimize time
as well as the cost to provide the solution of over flow of water wastage come this problem. It
consists of three sensors of which two are placed in overhead tank at maximum and minimum
levels as well as placed in sump. Whenever, we turn ON the sump motor the water starts flowing
into overhead tank and whenever the overhead tank gets overflowed then the wires (sensors) in
overhead tank gets in contact with each other and the motor gets automatically turned OFF.

This project aims to design, build, and test or simulate a solar power inverter and charge controller.
The ever-increasing reliance on electronic devices which utilize AC power highlights the problems
associated with the unexpected loss of power from the electrical grid. This inverter system could
be used as backup power during outages, battery charging, or for typical household applications.

The key features of the system are a true 50Hz, 220 peak to peak sinusoidal voltage output, and a
power output of up to 250W. The overall goal is to design the system by substituting system
component by low cost equivalent components and then going to minimize overall cost of the
inverter and charge controller. In addition to the cost minimization of charge controller and inverter
this project also focus on designing of reliable pure-sine wave inverters for use of home appliance
and other applications which has low power requirement. Although systems with similar features
already exist, but many are prohibitively expensive and available for those people who has the
ability to buy it. To do this project we follow the following methodology. First we study different
literatures which related to single phase solar power inverter and 12 volt charge controllers and
then select the required materials with their specification for both systems. After that we design
power and control circuit for our system based on their specification. And then develop the
simulation on the software

We design the charge control by using simple circuit to control the overcharging of battery, the
main components of this system comparator, voltage regulator and switch electronic device. The
main function of the switch device to make on and off the line between the solar panel and the
battery, the comparator used control the switch device (MOSFET) by comparing the battery level
and reference input from voltage regulator.
Abstract 3

Now a day’s electrical power is the most important and valuable thing in this world. Without
electrical power the world is dark and also we cannot do anything. This implies that power is
essential in our day to day activities. So we have to save the power to give for our next generation.
Therefore power saving is the most important issues. Most of the time voltage fluctuations
redundantly happened. This fluctuation damages the electronic device which we use in our activity
including the lamp. This kind of problem is happened in our societies frequently. This decreases
our economy. This in turn affects the economy of the country. Therefore, now we come up with
solution in order to minimize the cost by minimizing the damage of electronic device.
In our country still know there is the limitation of power and there is no consideration regarding
to power saving. EEPCO (Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation) try to distribute some energy
saving bulbs to our community. This is not enough and it doesn’t protect electronic device from
damage, since fluctuation of power or voltage is also happened redundantly.
The aim of this project is to save the power used in our home and protect the electronic device
from voltage fluctuation damage. This project is designed using simple electronics elements like,
capacitors, resistors, transistors and a relay. The Capacitors and Resistors play an important role
in saving power, while the relay protects our electronic device by switching of the power when
more fluctuation is happened.
