STANDARD APPLICATIONS

Rhodoline DF642NI is an emulsifiable, Silica-type, oil based defoamer and anti-webbing agent.

Rhodoline DF642NI has been formulated for use in:

• Emulsion paints and water borne coatings.
• Synthetic lattices such as Polyvinyl Acetate, Vinyl Acrylic and Acrylic emulsion and
natural latex.

BENEFITS:
• Readily dispersible in water, can be added at the end of polymerisation or at any
stage of a compounded formulation.
• Gives substantial freedom from defects such as "fish eyes" and surface imperfection
during film formation.
• Rapid bubble break in brushing or roll outs without causing surface defects.
• High efficiency for maximum economy.
• Effective in acidic or alkaline systems.
• Long lasting efficiency.
• Efficient in high shear environment.

 METHOD OF USE
Rhodoline DF642NI may be added as supplied or prediluted with water to form stock emulsions.
Generally dilution of Rhodoline DF642NI will enhance efficiency and as a result improve cost
efficiency.
As an anti-webbing agent a concentration of 0.1 to 0.3% will normally be adequate for most
applications.
As a defoamer a concentration of 0.3 to 0.5% is normally adequate. The defoamer can be used
either in the grind stage or let down stage when manufacturing paint.

STORAGE & HANDLING

Keep container tightly closed. Store in a cool dry place between 5 – 35 C. Agitate well before
use.
