Why we use the new technology STAT-X (The Aerosol System) in Fire Fighting
fields ?
1.No Oxygen Depleting .
2.Far easier installation-No piping, pressure cylinders, special supports or valves
are required, thus reducing installation time, installation and labor costs considerably.
3. Cost effectiveness – STAT-X systems are less expensive compared to most other
gaseous systems making these more attractive to the end user.
4. Easy maintenance without the need for pressure testing, weighing, pressure/leak
detection, etc.
5. Tremendous space saving as the space required is only a fraction of the space
needed for cylinders.
6. STAT-X systems design calculations are based on uncomplicated parameters
resulting in simplified design calculations.

Q. How does Stat-X work? (cont.)
The fire triangle is a useful teaching tool, but fails
to identify the 4th essential element of fire: the
sustaining chemical reaction.

This led to development of the fire tetrahedron.

Some fire suppression agents do not remove or
reduce any of the 3 necessary components, but
rather interfere with their chemical combination.
Q. How does Stat-X work? (cont.)
“Free Radicals,” are essential to the
propagation of a fire - (OH, H & O). Stat-X
suppresses the fire primarily by chemical
interference with these “free radicals” within
the fire zone.
➢Free radical – an uncharged molecule
(typically highly reactive and short-lived)
having an unpaired valence electron.

Potassium radicals (K) are the main active

component of the Stat-X aerosol.
These potassium radicals react with the radicals
of the flame.

How Stat-X Agent Suppresses Fire
1) Stat-X Agent & Inert Gas Suspension discharge
fills hazard volume (particle size 1-2 micron)
2) Potassium Radicals from Stat-X Agent mix with Stable Molecules
free radicals generated by combustion
3) Potassium chemically joins with Combustion Free
Radicals, interrupting the fire’s reaction pathway
and creating Stable Molecules
4) The interrupted fire reaction pathway can no longer
sustain combustion and the fire is suppressed.

Stat-X® Systems & the First Responder® provide highly effective
fire suppression for fires in enclosed facilities and local spaces.
This is true of all aerosols… which are, in fact, one of the most
effective extinguishing technologies available today.

All aerosols are effective in putting out fires. In that sense,

and in that sense only, all are similar.
