PARENTS’ ORIENTATION LEAFLET
Dear Parents,
APSACS Secretariat welcomes you to the Academic Session 2019-
2020!

This leaflet will give you relevant information about the facilitation
APSACS provides to its students.
It is our pleasure to work with you to create a rich learning
environment for each student. It is our conviction that students‟
success is a shared responsibility between the school, students and
parents. Our mutual goal is to build a deep sense of community &
well-being between children, parents & schools.

It is our firm belief that schools and parents have enormous gifts to
bestow upon each child. This includes the gift of enthusiasm and
enriching young lives by inspiring the love of learning. Why wait for
End Term results to applaud the academic achievements of your
ward? Let‟s promise as a Parent to cherish small daily
accomplishments. APSACS ultimate goal is not only a grandiose
academic achievement. The small steps that children learn by daily
engagement will enhance their learning experiences.

APSACS Secretariat endeavours to invest in the academic & social

development of each student. Parental enthusiasm in their child‟s
learning augments this learning and moulds the child‟s personality.
Active participation and presence of parents means the world to a
child who values time spent by parents more than lavish and
expensive objects. Your child relishes your presence not your
presents.

Every child can be a happy child if we (Parents & Teacher) provide a

welcoming space (Home & School) where students are eager and
excited to break in and not to break out. Parents must endeavour to
develop a healthy connection between a child‟s school & life at
home.

APSACS SECRETARIAT 1
The System can provide programmes on Patriotism, Values
Education & Emotional Health but never forget that YOU are the
main influence and partner in your child‟s success. Schools can
build infrastructure, up to date curriculum, provide a comfortable &
safe environment but you always were and always will be the driving
force behind the amazing adventure of your child‟s success.

Parents need to guide and support their child‟s learning by ensuring

that the child:
 attends school daily & on time
 completes his home assignments
 perform personal tasks and lends a helping hand to the family
 indulges in healthy outdoor activities
 reads daily to develop a love for reading and improve literary
skills
 shares school experiences so that you are aware of life at school
and build a bond of mutual trust
 is continuously guided in practicing values introduced in school
especially Patriotism and many more which you as parents want
in your child.

APSACS is aware of the fact that a strong partnership with parents

will make a significant difference in each child‟s lifelong learning. It
is our goal to promote excellence through determination and hard
work.

We look forward to a productive partnership to ensure that each

child reaches her/his highest potential in life.

Army Public Schools & Colleges System Secretariat

Army Public Schools and Colleges System Secretariat serves as a

central unifying body which ensures uniformity and standardization
amongst branches of Army Public Schools and Colleges spread
across Pakistan. The Secretariat provides strategic support to the
System in Academic Planning, Curriculum, Assessment and
Training. Its goal is to develop Army Public Schools & Colleges
into a leading education system which is completely standardized
and capable of imparting child friendly futuristic learning and
quality education at affordable costs.

APSAC System was established on the 3rd of October, 2005 with

the Secretariat as its controlling body for technical aspects. A
tremendous amount of hard work has been put in planning and
establishment of policies and procedures in Curriculum
Development, Assessments and Training.

These efforts are bearing fruit and a visible difference can be seen.
A quantum jump in student strength, performance as well as
number of schools is an indicator of how APS&C are becoming the
first choice for parents who are looking for quality education at
affordable cost.

Healthy Academic Environment and Growth Opportunities

Each child is graced with a set of capacities and skills that bloom
once the right conditions are provided. Let us prepare the home
and the school as the ideal resources that provide maximum
support and the right conditions for personal and educational
growth. Let us cultivate and refine language, communication,
reason, logic and creativity in each child. Let us open their minds
to infinite possibilities and pave the way to a BRAVE NEW
WORLD.

APSACS SECRETARIAT 5
Children are born curious and immensely imaginative. Human
talent is diverse, unique, hidden and dynamic. It blossoms and
matures as there is immeasurable potential for growth in it.
APSACS focuses on empowering students with a good education
and use it to build a country worthy of their boundless promise.

APSACS has an Anti-Corporal Punishment Policy. APSACS

exercises Zero Tolerance towards corporal punishment.

Students are groomed to value the Value of Learning. APSACS

believes in investing in human capital so as to reap maximum
dividends in the form of transformation in their outlook. Time and
expertise are funnelled in each student so as to develop them into
reflective individuals.

It is our endeavour to develop the skills and mindsets in each child

to develop a more sustainable and prosperous world. The aim of
APSACS is to prepare students as world citizens, socially
responsible and conscientious individuals of a global community.

Patriotism

Pakistaniat
The spirit of nationalism will be highlighted through:
1. Singing of National Anthem in Morning/Class Assemblies
(Mandatory for Staff & Students)
2. Flag Pins to be worn by all staff

APSACS SECRETARIAT 6
3. Focus and implementation of Pakistaniat in the syllabi
Ideology of Pakistan and Pakistan Movement
Teachers, parents and students form the triangle which bears the
responsibility of formal education as well as moral and holistic
development of a child.

There is a dire need to develop proper perspective about what led

to the creation of Pakistan. The whole school environment must be
an embodiment of “Patriotism”, right from the physical environment
(Daily National Anthem & Flag hoisting, Portraits of Quaid-e-Azam
& Allama Iqbal, Special School Assemblies, House System -Unity,
Faith, Discipline, Tolerance. School Uniform, Notebooks, Student
Diaries, Academic Calendars, The Flag of Pakistan and Display of
National Anthem & Quaid‟s Corner also highlight the concept.
APSACS makes it mandatory for the Principal, Section Heads,
Staff (teaching and ancillary) and students to always rise for the
National Anthem and sing it with Pride and Devotion.

Parents should
also discuss the
significance of
the colours of the
National flag,
National Anthem,
APSACS uniform
& stationery.
They must
ensure through
personal
example and
stress on buying products made in Pakistan. APSACS has initiated
a Region-wide campaign to inculcate the culture of buying
Pakistani goods.

Assessment & Examination

Human intelligence is diverse; it is compromised by the toxic
pressure of fear, competition and exam phobia. As parents, let
learning be natural & not forced on your child. People learn best
when they want to learn, according to their inclination, aptitude and
skills set. APSACS A&E Deptt. designs Tests to gauge
performance level with progression and not regression in mind.

APSACS SECRETARIAT 7
The ideal state for maximum learning to take place is low stress
and high challenge. Curb competition and allow utmost learning to
take place. Stress and anxiety always restrict learning.
APSACS gauges students‟ academic performance through the
following:

excellent sense of reasoning, high confidence, honesty, integrity,
respect and innovation.
APSACS earnestly believes that academic curriculum is augmented
and complemented by engaging students in Clubs and co-curricular
activities. These activities help students to be well rounded and well
grounded. Parents must encourage their children to sign-up for
Clubs according to their natural ability and volunteer in Clubs in
accordance with their inclination. The Club activities transform
students‟ personality by infusing a positive mindset. Makerspace will
be the manifestation and face under which all APSACS Clubs &
Societies will function on Saturdays or two hours after school (any
day specified by the school). The timeframe for clubs is convenient
so as to facilitate the parents.

APSACS SECRETARIAT 10
All projects prepared during the Science & Art Exhibition will fall
