It’s generally believed that some people are born with talents, for example
for sports or music, and others are not. However, it is sometimes claimed
that any children can be taught to become a good sports person or
musician. Dicuss both these views and give your own opinion.

The modern society normally associates natural talents with creative and
physical work, and such gifts are believed to belong to a limited number of
individuals. However, opponents of this view argue that children can be educated
and trained to excel at music or sports. Both these opinions are supported by
reasonable explanations.

On the one hand, it is generally accepted that many individuals possess natural
aptitudes in certain fields such as art or sports. Indeed, some children who have
hardly ever received any formal instruction still produce remarkable artistic works
at a young age because of their inborn talents. By way of illustration, the great
Austrian composer Mozart proved himself to be a music prodigy from early
childhood. He could play the piano when he was four, and composed violin
sonatas at the age of eight, later becoming one of the most prolific composers of
the Classical Era. Moreover, without a natural flair, any educational effort may
turn out to be counter-productive and futile. Children are likely to oppose and
even throw temper tantrums if they are forced to learn what they do not have a
gift for.

On the other hand, artistic or sporting skills can be acquired through education
and training. In general, it is genuine passion for arts or sports that motivates
young people to pracise hard and deliver impressive performance. A concrete
example of this is the case of some footballers. During childhood they were
hopeless at playing football and even regarded as failures. Nevertheless, they
persevered with strenuous physical exercises and finally succeeded in earning
worldwide reputation as brilliant footballers. It may be implied from this fact that
as long as youngsters have burning enthusiasm and strong determination, they
can attain their goals by dint of professional training and even without a special
aptitude. Besides, continuous training significantly contributes to fostering innate
talents. A child prodigy can never develop his flairs to the fullest extent unless he
is provided with

Taking everything into consideration, my personal view is that exceptional

abilities in art and sports can be both innate and acquired through teaching.
Having discovered real talents in youngsters, parents and educators are strongly
recommended to cultivate and exploit these gifts effectively, so that the young
geniuses are able to demonstrate all abilities and achieve outstanding success.
