HED 044

Reflection: Project 1

The first project we had in our Health Education class was our Personal Prescription

Paper. For this project, we had to take a self assessment either from our textbooks or a similar

assessment from online. From that assessment, we had to describe our current lifestyle, with

our eating habits and how active we were daily. We then had to discuss ways we thought of as

to how to improve our current health wellness, the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle,

and three personal goals that we set ourselves. I really enjoyed the process of this project

because I love the concept of healthy living. I am a Kinesiology major, with the thought of

possibly minoring in teaching or nutrition. I learned a lot about myself from this project from the

start. I saw a lot of bad habits that I was practicing without even noticing, such as late night

snacking, stressing over little and unnecessary things, as well as inconsistent sleeping

schedules. It helped me figure out a game plan on how I can tackle such problems and

understand certain ways to fix the problems that I have, as well as begin new lifestyles for a

better and healthier life. Through this project, my reading analysis and writing has improved,

and knowing how to put my thoughts into words and onto paper. I learned how much I enjoy

exploring my current state of health, and researching different ways of improvement in my life.

For future projects, I want to practice using outside and more resources to help support my

information and argument, and understand how to better tie in the excerpts that I get from the

resources that I choose. Another thing that I want to work on for future projects is to lessen the

jargon that I put in to fill in certain places, and rather go for more quality than quantity.
