What is SMS? SMS is stand for Short Message Service. SMS is currently supported on the major mobile
network technology for GSM, GPRS and CDMA. SMS is support the sending and receiving of text,
images and sound. There are 2 (two) basic service in SMS :

1. MO, Mobile originated. Transmit a message from mobile phone to SMSC.

2. MT, mobile terminated. Transmit a message from SMSC to mobile phone.
3. SMS protocol permits request of message delivery confirmation report (DR).
4. 1 (one) SMS message contain up to: 160 Latin character (7-bit Coding) – Text Mode
5. 70 unicode characters (double byte) e.g: Thai characters, Chinese characters
