Objective:
1) To identify and categorize personal items into classes.
2) To define characteristic belonging to the group and other groups based on the personal
items.
3) To determine if the characteristic presumed by other groups is similar by characteristic
listed.

Methodology:
1) The class were divided into 5 groups of 8 to 10 members each.
2) Each group were assigned a number to represent the group.
3) Each member took out every items in their bag and pockets.
4) The items were listed down together with the frequency of the items.
5) The frequency of items were presented to the class.
6) The items were then categorised into 10 categories.
7) The group members’ personality were then determined based on the items.
8) The 10 groups were then categorised further into 5 categories.
9) The items of Group 1 was observed and the personalities of Group 1 members were
determined.
10) The findings of our group on Group 1 were presented to the class.
11) Findings of group 2 on our group were presented to the class.
12) A suitable title was given for this class activity.

Findings:
Based on the activity, there were a total of 92 items from the group members. The items
were then categorised into 10 categories. The 10 categories are stationaries, gadgets,
medications, skin care, accessories, documents, attire, keys, food and drinks and lastly ID.
Stationaries consists of books, pencil box and pens. Mobile phones, ear phones, power bank
and pen drive were categorized as gadgets. Attire that were found are neck tie and lab coat
meanwhile for ID are land yard and dog tag. Then, the items were divided into 5 categories.
The 5 categories are gadgets, personal care, accessories, stationaries and attire. The items that
falls under personal care are such as water bottles, skin care and medicines. We emptied our
bags and put out all items at the center. In qualitative research this is considered as
conceptualizing the research. Conceptualizing the research is where researchers are curious and
ponder to find out what is happening. This will lead to further observation and discussion.
Based on our observation, we have well-prepared and simple group members. This is
because most of our group members only brought needed items to class such as stationaries,
wallets and purses, mobile phones and keys. There were some of our groupmates that are well-
prepared. They brought extra items such as lab coat, neck tie, perfume, medicines, umbrella
and make up bag. This shows that they are well prepared for any situation and willing to help
others with their items.
Not only that, observation was also conducted on non-participant observers. Non-
participant observers are described as researcher enter the setting as outsiders to observe events
and behavior. This can be applied when our group members went to observe another group
which is group one. Based on our observation, we can say that group members for group one
are well organized person, hardworking person and they are the people who loves to study.
Based on what they have categorized, we can observed that there were many drinking bottles
and this shows that they are aware on the importance of water and keep on hydrated due to the
weather these few days. For the stationaries, we can say that all of them are prepared to learn
and jot down notes. There were also mobile phones that can be seen. It shows that everyone is
up to date. There were also lab coat, umbrella and several essential items such as purses and
we can say that they are well prepared.
One of the ways of collecting data is the usage of photograph. Photographs are used to
learn how people interpret in their own way. We took pictures of the data which is the 10
categories from all the items that we have of our group and also other group. This is to ensure
that we can recall the information obtained and also serve as a source of data.
Then, focus interviewing is a part of collecting data in qualitative research. There are
two steps of focus interviewing that we have done, structured interview and unstructured
interview. However, we were focusing more in unstructured interview to gain more
information. Based on the activities, we also did the focus group interview for the members of
our group and the members of another group which was Group 1. The focus group interview
was done to obtain insights into group perceptions and beliefs.
After collecting data, we immediately analyse the data that we have. Based on the list
of items, we have described the members of group based on what items that they put in their
bag. We also described another group which was Group 1 based on our perspectives.
Attendance counts, achievement score and epidemiological data are the supportive
quantitative data. In this activity, we used attendance count as we list out all the items and also
quantify the items. We got 92 items in total.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, the items were able to be identify into 10 different groups of based on
similar usage or functions. These items were further defined into 5 different groups. Based on
the items, we can conclude that our team is very simple because most of us come unprepared
with little to none items. Only a few were very prepared and brought along unique items.
However, based on the assumption given off by different group we are thought to be very well
based financially. This perception was really different than what we thought so it highly shows
how our perception can differ from other people in a qualitative data observation and analysis.
