Good evening, ME’s in the making.

Tonight, in this commemorative event, we have gathered here once more to celebrate our concluding
year, our last hurdle en route to our primary goal. Looking back, we stumbled, climbed, and moved
mountains in order to live our dreams. Everyone felt the steepness of our uphill battle; but it is
evident that no one here faltered throughout our race, and with our dedication, our undying passion
to our craft, and the help of God, we are now in the culminating phase of our ascend to become
engineers.

During this last stretch we accomplished feats no batch can ever replicate. We built our stone
monuments with a streak of successful events from our topnotch participation in the annual NEU
Science fair that resulted in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in different categories up to this event, the
UNMESH: A new Chapter for future innovative engineers. Our school also hosted prestigious events
by the PSME, namely the 1st NCR Regional Conference and the 8th Nat’l Student Convention.

I never thought that I can learn more than I could during my time in AMES and with the PSME, but I
was wrong. I was given a lot of opportunities that made me more competent not only to lead but also
to work in a team. In an organization where you see engineers at work, we can learn first hand about
the system we will be walking into. We learn skills essential for engineering management, and most
of all we enhanced our prowess to professionally and effectively communicate. With this I encourage
the next batch of officers to take charge in handling the AMES with utmost concern for the welfare
of ME students and have pride for you will be part of an excellent organization that helps ME students
prepare for the world.

This batch, this batch housed true exceptional students. Students that worked together to make
everything we achieved possible, students that helped create a positive environment for learning. I
would like to thank everyone for supporting our organization’s projects and ideals, for continuing to
lift the stature of our department to be known among other institutions.

Also, I would like to take the time to personally thank our professors and my co-officers that helped
me lead throughout the ups and downs, who stuck up during the toughest times of my office. Thank
you for helping me lead our batch to attain every accomplishment possible and I can say that without
all of you I don’t think I’ll be here in front of everyone, giving my last speech as President of AMES.

Now that we’re altogether in this place, I can see how everyone matured into wonderful people. We
had grown from these happy go lucky to responsible students who can do tasks efficiently, ready for
the anything that comes in our way. It’s as if the years flew by and we were just novices yesterday
who knew nothing of the sleepless nights, brain-tearing, nerve wrecking exams we had to reach this
day. And as our curtain calls and rises for another batch of competitive, and exceptional engineers in
the making, I hope that everyone won’t lose sight of what’s important to them, that we stay in our
paths, and continue to be innovative engineers. I hope that at the end of the day, we can also look
back and say that I am proud to be a graduate of this school, and a Mechanical Engineer.
