(EACH WORD IS TO BE DEFINED (1-3 SENTENCES) AND USED IN A WORKPLACE EXAMPLE (1-3 SENTENCES)

1. Collectivism: A cross-cultural value describing the degree to which people in a culture emphasize duty to groups to
which they belong and to group harmony.

Example: When employees put their company’s profits ahead of their own private profits.

2. Extraversion: Personal quality of being comfortable with social relationships.

Example: High levels of extraversion have been proven to be in jobs that require a great deal of interaction.

CRITICAL THINKING QUESTION: It has been said that all employees are motivated. Do you agree with this statement?
(7-10 SENTENCES). BE THOROUGH IN ANSWERING THE QUESTION

I feel like this statement only applies in certain jobs because not every job out there is very motivational. Some
people work because it’s their passion while some work just for the money. Being motivated entirely depends
on what the job offers and what the worker wants/needs. For example, if you worked at McDonalds making
minimum wage it doesn’t seem like you’d be very motivated, but if you loved pets and got a job as a
veterinarian then you’d be more motivated to work as you actually enjoyed your job. It also depends on your
boss. In the McDonalds situation even though you have bad pay, if your boss was very easy-going and
supportive then you’d have more motivation to come to work every day because he/she makes your job not
as stressful. In conclusion, not all employees are motivated, it really depends on the situation that each
employee is in.
