A Piece of Coffee: Life Journal

Running, Skipping, Walking.

Hard to breath. Sun shining bright her smile burning the skin. The “childness” of earth makes

the water seem like a bath tub. Ducks are flying overhead. The plastic kind, filling the ocean and

causing problems. Bubbles fill my mind. How to create something that has never been created,

running with the ducks that fly before me. Keeping me safe from the zoo animals that are fearful

of the water.

Skipping, Running, Walking.

Holding hands… Flying high never falling. Keeping time is like the click of a new pen as the

words flow onto the coffee stains. Waking in the morning to the darkness of what wasn’t

expected. Swimming in the thoughts of black. How do we find the white sky where we had the

picnic? Apples and Pears so alike but so different. Making the easiness of the day fade to

whatever comes after day. Not night.

Walking, Running, Skipping.

Fights that sound like elephants. The look of a new shoe thrown down in spite. How do you walk

without the shoe you once had? Skipping, Running, Walking the elephant around the yard.

“Let’s search for water. Is there where we are supposed to go?” I don’t want to be friends with

the Lion I met at the zoo. Running from the Lion. Who are you and who do you want to be. I met

you in the sun and I saw my plans come undone. Like the shoe string I saw on the ground as we

were walking the elephant for fear of the lion.
