A WebQuest for 6-7th Grade

Introduction
D-Day! What is D-Day? Its one of the most powerful day in US history. The battle that
took place on this day changed the way WW2 was fought and won. We lost so many
soldiers on the battle field fathers, sons, brothers, friends and so on, it was a travesty. But
in this travesty the war began to switch to the Americans and its allies.

The Task
You and a partner of your choosing will visit the following websites on the subject D-
Day. As you visit each site, you will need to collect information on your note page.

Throughout your research you need to keep the following two questions in mind:
* What is D-Day?
* Why is it so important in American history?

After collecting your information, you will meet with another partnership to explain what
you have learned. You will then work together to answer the questions on a work page
about D-Day and the importance in American History.

Later, you and your partner will be able to give a five-minute power point presentation on
D-Day and the importance of that power full day in American history.

3. Once your note page is completed, meet up with another partnership to compare
your answers. You will be explaining what you have learned about D-Day and its
History.
4. With your group, now fill out a time line with key dates and examples of what
happened during D-Day.
5. You and your partner are now ready to make a five-minute power point
presentation on D-day and the importance in American history.

presentation.
