Appendix 1: Lesson Plan

LESSON PLAN Subject: Math

Trainee: Shamma Topic or Theme: Fraction and division

Marwan Ali Alzaabi

MST: Mr.Lorcan

Class: 5A-5B-5C Date & Duration: 25-3-2019/27-3-2019

Trainee Personal Goals:

Firstly, in this lesson, I am working on how to improve my relationship with my learners which mean
respect to them, gives them chance to talk and always be positive that point is too important to me as a
teacher because when teacher always be smile , hug them and give them high five that ways
encouraging the students to work hard and love what they do and reduce their stress. In addition, I am
working on avoiding making the lesson uninteresting, so I need to create interesting activities which
mean encourage more play and make learning fun to my learners. Also, give students time to share
their different ideas about the concept of the lesson and let them use fine motor skills such as cut and
paste the be helpful to them to develop their kinetics. Moreover, I need to focus and work more on my
voice since the voice is too important to me as a teacher to work on it because the students need to
listen to me clearly while I talk. Finally, I will reflect on my teaching what the area was perfect and what
need development, so I will try to look at these points carefully and write notices for my next lesson.

Lesson Focus
On how to solve different kind of fraction questions. Also, the learners will identify the difference
between the numerator and denominator by working in two different activities. Firstly, each student
will get white paper and follow instructions of their teacher to draw a fraction pizza. However, I will
explain the meaning of numerator and denominator by use PowerPoint slider to show them different
kind of example to help them understand the concept of fraction questions. Secondly, they will work in
their group to solve fraction puzzles together. In addition, through this lesson students will acquire new
math vocabulary words such as, numerator, denominator and whole.

Lesson Outcomes

-The students will be able to recognize the difference between the numerator and
denominator.
-The students will be able to solve fraction questions.

-The students will be able to explain the numerator and denominator.

revision the multiplication questions by use the smartboard to refresh their mind and be ready
to acquire new information, so I will use students list to choose any students to answer my
question but if he is unable to answer I will ask other student to help him.

21st Century Skills

The 21st Century Skills are important points in the teaching and the teachers should focus on these
specific points because its benefit to the students it gives them a chance to produce their actions
through these skills. However, the 21-century skills are critical thinking, communication, collaboration,
and creativity so I believe that each point includes a basic point that could help learners while they
learn. Also, the ability of the students is different so as a teacher should know that the students need to
produce their active and their abstract thinking so through these skills we can give them chance to
learn in the best environment because there are different methods can help them while they learn. For
example, keep students think before we give them the answers.

Key vocabulary
-Numerator

-Denominator

- Whole

Possible problems for learners Solutions to possible problems

Students may will faced difficult to make I will explain the concept in a clear and certain way
difference between numerator and to help them understand the difference between
denominator. the numerator and denominator. For example, I
will solve a different kind of fraction question on
the board and I will show them examples on the
PowerPoint slider to help them understand it. Also,
while they work on the activity I will explain and
interduce clear instruction such as, explain step by
step and use repetition way that helps students
understand what I mean and not confused while
they follow the instructions.
