LESSON PLAN Subject: Math

Trainee: Shamma Topic or Theme: Find the Area and Perimeter.

Marwan

MST: Mr.Lorcan

Class: 5-A Date & Duration: 15/4/2019

Trainee Personal Goals

In this lesson, I am working on improving myself as a student teacher how to be more confident while I
teach my students and teach my learners in fun way and show them respectful such as, listen to them,
help them and create a creative classroom environment. Also, how I can avoid misbehaviour such as
use positive, negative and punishment reinforcement according to behaviourism theory. In addition, I
will use several methods of interesting activities that help my students feel happy and confident while
they work that also keep them understand the concept of the lesson in an easy way. However, I will
reflect on my teaching what worked well and what I need to improve it. Finally, I will set some aims that
could be useful and helpful to help me use it again and avoid negative points in my teaching lesson.

Lesson Focus

On how to find and solve Area and Perimeter questions so, students will work in 3 different kinds of
activities. Firstly, will solve area and perimeter questions by using smart board so I will use PowerPoint
to show them the question then I will choose students to solve it front the classroom such as, what is
the perimeter of rectangle, what is the area of square and what is the perimeter of square and they will
identify the difference between length and width. Also, students will understand the concept of Area
and Perimeter what is different between them and what is the rule of the equation. Secondly, they will
work on the worksheet individually to find the Area and Perimeter that help them understand the
concept. Finally, I will keep them create a happy rectangle shape include two different questions first
question will be about find the area and second question about finds perimeter that helps me to check
their understanding while they worked.

Lesson Outcomes

Students will be able to identify the different between Area and Perimeter rules.

Students will be able to solve area and perimeter questions.

Students will be able to define the width and length on the shapes.
Links to Prior Learning

I will make a revision on division questions with whole class, so I will show them the question by display
the sliders of the PowerPoint and each slide include the question with three different answers then
they have to choose the correct answer, but I will use the student list to choose any one of my students
to come in front of the class and solve it.

21st Century Skills

The 21st Century Skills are important points in the teaching and the teachers should focus on these
specific points because its benefit to the students it gives them a chance to produce their actions
through these skills. However, the 21-century skills are critical thinking, communication, collaboration,
and creativity so I believe that each point includes a basic point that could help learners while they
learn. Also, the ability of the students is different so as a teacher should know that the students need to
produce their active and their abstract thinking so through these skills we can give them chance to
learn in the best environment because there are different methods can help them while they learn. For
example, keep students think before we give them the answers, and let them share their beautiful
ideas with their friends that ways can be helpful to them.

Key vocabulary

1-Area 2- Perimeter 3 – Width 4–Length 4– opposite 5– measurement 6– units (cm) 7– square which
mean area equal 6sq units

Possible problems for learners Solutions to possible problems

Learners will not understand if we have a I will show my students by display the PowerPoint and

then they have to add or multiply the two numbers and
find the perimeter or the area.
