1. Have you heard of the term canceling in relation to social media? If so can you define it in your own
terms?

Canceling is like the internet version of boycotting with the goal of damaging their lively hood.
Except its not always the most positive, in fact, in most of the examples I have seen it’s out of pure
smite and hatred so much to the point that it is unjustified.

2. Do you think participating in Cancel Culture can lead to negative interaction in among-st
interpersonal relationships off-line? Why?

Yes, I strongly believe that this set of behavior online can also affect your interpersonal
relationships offline. The things you say and do online are not far off from the things you will do and
say offline given the right audience of course. For example, some people didn’t know that putting
pineapple on pizza was a thing before they read about it on the internet. On the internet you will find
plenty of “colorful” language involving the subject of putting pineapple on pizza. Before some people
may of just thought, “oh putting pineapple on pizza sounds like its not for me, but cool that its an
option may try it one day.” Now that they browse the internet and see comments and post like, “People
who puts pineapples on pizza are Sub-human trash that go against nature. Pineapple does not belong on
a pizza!” People who are very impressionable will see that and begin to build a hatred for something
they never even tried before over something as simple as putting pineapple on pizza; which is a very
true scenario that I have witnessed.

3. Do you think cancel culture is a new phenomena? Explain.

Yes, Now a days I feels as thought too many people look towards the internet to vent their
negativity or general unhappiness for the world to deal with do to a lack of real life social skills or
problem solving. So again yes, I believe is a new phenomena that people are going to use to spread
negativity online as a way to cope for their ignorance and unhappiness.
