T
his is the body text that should be used (Garamond 12). The first
letter of the chapter has a Drop Cap (the function is found in the
Insert menu). The line spacing is 1.15 which makes it easier to read.
The space between the paragraphs is set to be 12 pt after the paragraph.
The alignment is justified, which means that the text is aligned to both left
and right side. If there are long words this might give too much space
between the words. Hyphenate long words in order to correct this. Insert
page breaks where you want them in order to fully control the layout of the
book.

The margins are: mirrored. Top margin: 2.54 cm, Bottom margin: 2.54 cm,
Inside: 3.18 cm, Outside: 2.54 cm.

It is important to use the correct format for the headings since the table of
content is generated from the headings.

Make sure that your first chapter starts on an odd page. This template is
made for having different format on odd and even pages.

The bullet list should look like this (style List Bullet):

 First item

 Second item

 Third item

The number list should look like this (style List Bullet):

Insert pictures by inserting a
textbox and copying one of
these gray boxes by right
clicking on the figure and
choose “Copy” in the drop
menu. Paste it inside the
textbox by placing the mouse
inside the textbox, right click
and choose “Paste” in the
drop menu. To change the
picture, right click on the
grey box and choose “Change
picture” in the drop menu.
Figure 1: Description of figure 1
Choose location on the
textbox, and under the “Format” menu tab choose “Position” or “Text
wrapping”. Insert caption for the picture by selecting both the textbox
and the picture and choose “Insert caption” from the Reference menu
write the description after Figure 1 and choose figure”. Make sure
that the caption is inside the text box (Drag to enlarge). The caption is
used for the table of figures in the beginning of the book. Remove the
line from the textbox by first selecting the textbox then choose shape
outline in the format menu and choose No outline.

For small figures like the above you might wrap the text around but not for
larger pictures like below. Position the textbox in line with text for them
instead of wrapping the text around the textbox. The textbox makes it easy
to move the picture together with the caption.

The section breaks are very important. If you turn on the show paragraph
marks you will see the section breaks as two dotted lines and the text either
Section Break Continuous or Section Break next page. On the first chapter
side there should be a Section Break Continuous. This makes it possible to
change the format within the same page.
