Reflect on my second

observation
Firstly, my second observation was on the 25th and 26th of March. I
was teaching grade 5 boys math lesson about fraction and division.
However, I was working on make a suitable activity according to my
student’s level to keep them understand the concept of the lesson in a
certain way and clearly. Also, I was work on how I can scaffold my
learners to help them acquire the lesson concept. In addition, during
my lesson, I was encouraging more play and make learning fun to my
learners. For example, I keep students create fraction pizza that helps
them learn in a fun environment and boys are active and creative, so I
used this way to interest them while they learn. In addition, through
my observation period I keep students shared their different ideas about
the concept of the lesson and let them use fine motor skills such as cut and
paste that be helpful to them to develop their kinetics. Moreover, my
mentor school teacher was gives me feedback about how my lesson
was so, there are strength points. Firstly, he said Shamma put a lot of
thought and effort into her lesson. Secondly, she employed an
excellent balance between hands-on active learning such as, sharing,
pair work, and whole class. Lastly, Shamma uses positive reinforcement
and is consistent and fair. Also, she said I was confident, hardworking
and thoughtful. In addition, there are also areas for development that
my mentor school teacher gives it to me. For example, he said there
are two points you need focus on it which mean prepare higher order
question to challenge my high-level students. Also, the second point
was giving my learners clear concept of the lesson. Finally, in my
opinion, the teacher should always focus on her aims of the lesson and
keep them specific and clear that way will be useful to her while she
teaches her students.
