Student Teachers Lesson Plan

For your final exam, you will choose one of the two options below:​ Based on your specific
interests, you will be responsible for teaching the class about your topic/chapter. ​Your presentation
should be four to five minutes. I will take points off it is too short or too long.

OPTION A:
● Research and teach the class ​an controversial
issue related to health and science exploration.
● Teach​ the class ​BOTH the scientific
information as well as present ideas to explain
why the topic is controversial​. Give evidence
to support both sides of the issue. Some
questions you may answer may include: How
does it benefit healthcare? What makes the
topic controversial? Why might some people
disapprove of the issue?
● Create a presentation​ with facts, data, images,
and commentary.
● Explain ​specific ways that your topic relates to
issues covered this semester.
Topic Ideas:
● Tuskegee Syphilis experiment
● Nazi Medical Experiments
● Nuremberg Code
OPTION B:
● Choose a chapter or topic from the Health book that we
did not get to cover, research, and teach the class about
the topic OR another healthcare issue that interests you.
● Teach the class about the facts about the topic, but also
be sure to explain how the topic connects to teens.
● Create a presentation​ with facts, data, images, and
commentary.
● Explain ​specific ways that your topic relates to issues
covered this semester.

Topics must be approved by and will be presented the day of the final exam-Thursday May 23. ​Seniors
will present on May 17th.
