Appendix Troubleshooting
The reference pages describing the causes and required actions for the most commonly
occurring problems during operation are given below. If a problem occurs, first check
the following items. For problems not described here, contact your Toshiba service
representative.
64
If scanning cannot be performed
If scanning stops suddenly
Corrective measures
<1> Click the button including the word "Reset" in the error message window (for
example, [[XC Reset]]).
After clicking the button, click [[Confirm]]. When the scan start button lights,
scanning can be resumed.
<2> If corrective measure <1> is ineffective, terminate the eXam Plan and select it
again. When the scan start button lights, scanning can be resumed.
<3> If corrective measure <2> is ineffective, reboot the system. In this case, patient
registration must be performed again.
When the scan start button lights, scanning can be resumed.
65
Appendix
If it is not possible to proceed to the next
operation
If mouse operation cannot be performed
Corrective measures
<1> Press the [Ctrl], [Alt], and [Del] keys of the keyboard simultaneously. The
system shuts down and restarts.
<2> If corrective measure <1> is ineffective, turn OFF the power of the Navibox.
Wait for several seconds and turn ON the power of the Navibox again. After the
power is turned ON, recovery processing is performed by the software. Wait
until recovery processing is completed.
* If recovery processing is performed when the power is turned ON, the next shutdown operation
takes longer than normal.
Corrective measures
Use the reset function to return the system to its normal operating status.
* The operating procedures for the reset function differ depending on the abnormality. Refer to
subsection 4.4 "Reset Function" of section 4 "Power ON/OFF Procedures" of the operation
manual (basic volume).
Corrective measures
<1> Click the area indicating the remaining number of filming queue items to display
the job list. (Refer to P. 4 and 5.)
Write down the contents of the jobs indicated as errors in the list and then delete
the jobs. Termination processing can then be performed.
<2> If corrective measure <1> is ineffective, inform your Toshiba service
representative of the contents of the error.
66
If a warning message is displayed
If a communication error warning window is displayed
Corrective measures
Corrective measures
If the message "Arc occurred in previous scan." is displayed after scanning, the
obtained images are likely to be abnormal. Immediately check the reconstructed
images to see whether there is an abnormality.
* This message indicates that discharge of the X-ray tube occurred during the most recent scan.
If a message indicating that more than 80% of the image disk is filled
is displayed
Corrective measures
If a message indicating that more than 80% of the image disk is filled is displayed,
scanning may be disabled when the remaining disk space is reduced further.
Therefore, provide sufficient free space on the image disk before starting scanning.
67
Appendix
When the power of the system is turned OFF
and then ON again
If the power of the Navibox has been turned OFF directly
Corrective measures
Wait for several seconds and then turn ON the power of the system. After the power
is turned ON, recovery processing is performed by the software. Wait until recovery
processing is completed.
Recovery processing may take up to 1 hour. If the system is used to examine
emergency patients, another diagnostic modality should be available.
* If recovery processing is performed when the power is turned ON, the next shutdown operation
takes longer than normal.
Corrective measures
The action differs depending on the period of time for which the switch on the
distribution board is OFF. Contact your Toshiba service representative. Note the
following points when the power is turned ON.
<1> Confirmation of the air conditioner
In order to prevent system malfunctions due to a rise in the room temperature,
be sure to confirm that the air conditioner is operating.
<2> Warming up of the X-ray detector
When the power of the system remains OFF for a long time, a period of
approximately 2 hours is required for stabilization of the detectors in the CT
system after the power is turned ON. Do not perform scanning during this
period. Perform scanning for the TOS phantom and check that the image has
no artifacts before examination. For this test procedure, refer to subsection 3.1
"Pre-operation check" in the Basic volume.
<3> Recovery processing time
Recovery processing by the software is performed. Wait until recovery
processing is completed. Recovery processing may take up to 1 hour. If the
system is used to examine emergency patients, another diagnostic modality
should be available.
68
If the system has stopped due to a power interruption
Corrective measures
The CT scan system is not provided with a backup battery. Therefore the situation is
the same as in the above case ("If the switch on the distribution board has been
turned OFF"). First, turn OFF the power of the console.
Turn ON the power of the console after the power has returned. Recovery processing
will be performed. Note the following points when the power is turned ON.
