• The United States District Court for the District of Nevada is the federal district court whose
jurisdiction is the state of Nevada. The court has locations in Las Vegas and Reno. Cases from
the District of Nevada are appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
(except for patent claims and claims against the U.S. government under the Tucker Act, which
are appealed to the Federal Circuit.
• In the Nevada State Constitution, Article number 11 covers education and there are 10
sections.
• U.S. Supreme Court Cases;
1. Sec: 4. Establishment of state university; control by board of regents. [Effective through
November 23, 2020, and after that date unless the provisions of Assembly Joint Resolution
No. 5 (2017) are agreed to and passed by the 2019 Legislature and approved and ratified by
the voters at the 2020 General Election.]
