Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements

All Nevada Education and Early Childhood Education students are required to

pass the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators Exam before they are accepted into

their bachelors level Education or Early Childhood programs at UNLV, NSC, or UNR.

The Education Department recommends that students take the Praxis Core Exam upon

completion of the English and Math General Education requirements and before

enrollment of EDU 299, Education Portfolio.Students should take their English and Math

requirements during the first 30 hours of their college experience.

Exam Preparation

To prepare for the praxis I took a look at several of the online components they have to

view for no cost. I went into each of the individual subjects and looked over all three of

the different subjects.

Exam Results

In the math praxis core math I scored a 62%, which means needs improvement. In the

praxis core reading I scored a 27% which means I need significant improvement. In the

praxis core writing I scored a 48% which means I need significant improvement.
Future Exam Preparation

Looking at the scores that I received in the practice Praxis scores. I was really

disappointed in what I received. I also did not really study and prepare for the exams as

much as I should have. Before I take my praxis I need to do as much studying as I can. I

need to purchase a study book or an online program. I also believe I want to work with a

tutor that will work with my closely.
