Use the information from your observation sheet to answer the following questions.

1. What patterns did you see between air pressure and precipitation?

If the air pressure is around 1020 then the precipitation will be around 3.5 inches.

2. What patterns did you see between air pressure and temperature?

The higher the air pressure the higher the temperature will be.
3. What patterns did you see between air pressure and wind speed and direction?

If the air pressure is by 1020 then the wind speed will be around one or 2 miles per hour and
the wind direction will be most likely East.

4. Over the five-day period, which day had the highest barometric pressure readings? Which if
the day did this occur? Describe the general weather conditions for on that day.

It occured on day 2 and the general weather conditions for that day were pretty cool.

5. Over the five-day period, which day had the lowest barometric pressure readings? Which day
did this occur? Describe the general weather conditions on that day.

Day 3 had the lowest barometric pressure readings and the weather conditions were cold and
rainy.

6. Which days had the least change in air pressure over the five-day period? Describe the
general weather conditions for these days.

Days 4 and 5 had the least change the general conditions were rainy on day 4 and cold on
day 5.

7. What conclusion can you make about the connection between barometric pressure and
general weather conditions?

The lower the air pressure the colder the weather was.

8. Predict what the weather conditions will be like tomorrow based on your data. Write the
predicted temperature, wind speed, wind direction, barometric pressure, and relative humidity.
The weather tomorrow will most likely be rainy the temperature will most likely be around 56
degrees. With winds around 1 mile per hour. Wind direction going East. With the air pressure
of 1017. Finally the humidity will be around 50%.

9. Choose three different cities, not your city. What is the barometric pressure reading for each
city?

Monrovia=79%
Covina=48%
LA=30%

10. Predict the general weather conditions for each city.

I predict that Monrovia’s weather is warm I also predict that Covina’s weather is cold and I
predict LA’s weather is pretty cold.

11. How does your prediction of the general weather conditions for each of your three cities
compare with the actual weather? If they are not similar, explain what might have caused the
differences.

My predictions were 1 right and 2 wrong. I think the differences were caused by how it is not
raining today.
