You are nothing…


so don’t boast in yourself
• The Corinthians were nobodies
(verse 26)

• Those who are something are nothing


(verses 27-28)

• There’s no reason to boast in you, so don’t!


(verse 29)

God does everything…


so boast in Him!
• God is the reason you are Christian
(verse 30)

• It’s all about Christ crucified


(verse 30)

• There’s every reason to boast in Christ, so do it!

Your preacher is nothing…
so don’t trust in their wisdom
• Paul’s preaching was nothing special
(verses 1,3-4)

• Because he focussed on substance not style


(verse 2)

• There’s no reason to trust in a preacher, so don’t!


(verse 5)

It’s God’s power that saves…


so trust in Him!
• Paul’s preaching was weak
(verses 3-4)

• But it showed that God’s power is strong


(verse 4)

• Only God’s power can save you, so trust in Him!


(verse 5)

have nothing in ourselves to boast about? What
does boasting in Christ look like in practice? How
