What are some popular wedding customs in your country? What is the significance of these
customs?

Some popular weddings customs in my country are that the bridegroom must not see the bride
before the ceremony and the people invited have to send their presents a week before the
ceremony. So, the significance is that: for the first, it is a sign of bad luck and the second is to
give the bride and the groom time to distribute the things.
Question 2
Do you think society places a lot of importance on marriage? How do younger generations view
marriage, compared to older generations?
Yes, I do. Society see marriage as a sign of strengthen the couple relationship. In contrast,
younger people have a different perspective and first they want to master in their career and then
get married.

Fireworks are an important part of many Chinese rituals and events. What do you think these
fireworks symbolize?
So, it could be that fireworks are a sign of a new beginning or a sign of a deal that everyone
made.
Question 2
Have you ever participated in celebration or tradition that might be unsafe? Would you? Why, or
why not?
No. I have not. I do not if the celebrations with fireworks are unsafe, but everyone have to take
care of themselves. To finish I do not like fireworks.

Describe your ideal wedding. What would it be like? Who would you invite? Where would it be
held?
I do not have an idea of an ideal wedding, but I would like that it will be something small in my
own house. In which I could celebrate and enjoy with my close friends and relatives.
Question 2
Have there been any interesting celebrity weddings lately? Which ones caught your attention?
No, I have not been in an interesting celebrity wedding, because I do not know any of them.

Question 3
Many cultures celebrate events based on myths and legends. Can you think of any? Why would
people celebrate something that might not be true or real?
I can think in one that is held in Ayabaca in Peru. People from there make a festival to thank the
Cautivo de Ayabaca that is an image of Christ. It is said that that Cautivo make some miraculous
to people who make a promise to return by foot. People celebrate because some people say that
they received a miracle from the Cautivo.
