Reflection on Monster Project

In my 12th grade English class, we were asked to make a monster of our own after

reading Beowulf. I chose this piece as the best evidence of my learning in English because

even though there was a crisis, and I missed out on a lot of things, and I had a hard time paying

attention, I managed to pull something off.

This piece represents a challenge I overcame because at the time I was in the middle of

a major crisis. I was trying to figure out how to deal with that while also trying to balance school,

a show I was in, driver’s ed, and many other things. I was constantly overwhelmed and

exhausted, and yet I still managed to make a monster for a school project, even if it was late.

This piece showcases a personal strength which is determination. Even though I was

struggling with every aspect of my life, was on the verge of a mental breakdown at all times, and

was barely in school, whether it be physically or mentally, I still managed to do a major project.

This piece represents a moment in my journey at Beacon because it shows that even in

the hardest times, I can still do what is required of me. I have the strength and determination to

do what I have to.
