My Name is Bilal Sadiq from Pakistan, and I have completed my Bachelor’s in Electronic Engineering
from Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (M.A.J.U), also done my Master’s in Electrical Engineering from
Center of Advanced Studied in Engineering (C.A.S.E) specialized in Control System. Now I am trying to
seek admission for PhD in your prestigious university under your kind supervision.
As Pakistan government has announced Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) 2019 scholarships
for PhD programs, whose deadline is 22nd April 2019.The prime requirement for this scholarship is that
candidate has to secure admission in foreign country. Therefore kindly consider this as my application for
seeking admission in PhD.My further academic and experience details are listed below:
I have done my Master’s with thesis with a paper (submitted to ICISE conference, publish under process)
the title of my thesis is “Physiological Based Motor Control of Postural Balance” whose abstract is

Abstract—Postural balance has been studied using mathematical models and experimental studies for a long time.
Physiology based postural balance involves the skeletal muscles as actuators, which are innervated by the central
nervous system through a motor control signal to maintain a stable posture or to have a stable prescribed movement. In
physiology the neural feedback is provided by the proprioceptive and vestibular sensors. In this study we focus on the
physiological model of skeletal muscle, muscle spindle and Golgi tendon organ (proprioceptive) along with semicircular
canal and otolith organ (vestibular) system. The central nervous controller is modeled by linear quadratic regulator and
linear quadratic Gaussian methods for generating control signal to the muscles. The musculoskeletal-sensory model
under consideration is restricted to sagittal plane only. Our computer simulation results demonstrate that for a small
movement over the base of support (BoS) a major contribution toward postural balance comes from the Golgi tendon
organ. Simulation results also shows that under noisy conditions presence of all sensors becomes mandatory for attaining
postural balance

“Biomechanical Model and Optimal Controller Desin of Soccer Kick in MATLABSimmechanics”
whose abstract is

Abstract—The research about modelling complex mechanical system have been developed rapidly,
Newtonian, Lagrangian and Bond graph method were considered the most useful methods, but involves a
high level of geometry, orientation and interconnection between segments. Apart of modelling, control system
is needed to be develop for a precise motion and stability of the system. The motivation for this research is to
use a modeling-simulation framework to achieve three aims: (a) establish a model for a single leg three link
segment kicking behavior in SimMechanics for voluntary movement, (b) synthesize by a PID and Linear
quadratic regulator controller and (c) to examine the stability performance and comparison analysis for said
movement. We employ the model with three degrees of freedom, including rotation at ankle, knee and hip
joints. This modelling framework mimics the kicking action of a soccer player without actual derivation of
mathematical equations. The model allows motion control and that of the leg controlled angles along with
torque generated by each actuator at the joints. From the comparison analysis, the PID settles the controlled
angles quickly compared to Lqr controlled angles because of integral action in PID, while torque generated
by each actuator shows reasonable values for Lqr as compared to PID. The dynamic simulation carried out
in this study will be helpful for further investigation of kicking action keeping the Magnus effect in picture
by utilizing the outside, and inside area of the foot for kick action. Moreover the modeling analysis will be
helpful in physiological aspects.
