Coming Up:

 Mass Extinctions
 Evidence of Common Ancestry

Dates:

 May 31 – Relative Age and Fossils Assessment

 June 3 – ORDERS DUE FOR COLOR RUN
 June 11 – Fun Day – COLOR RUN
 June 14 – Last Day of School/Early Dismissal

What we did this week:

Tuesday we finished related dating. We saw how index fossils can be used
for relative dating of sedimentary rocks.
Wednesday through Friday we looked at research on different mass
extinctions, when it happened, what caused it to happen (in some cases there were
multiple theories), what animals went extinct, and what animals evolved/survived
the extinction. Students filled out a graphic organizer of the different mass
extinctions in our DesignFolio.
Today we will have an assessment on relative dating and fossils and then
continue back to mass extinctions.

Have a great weekend!
