Company Backgrounds

The Quezon City Public Library was organized and inaugurated on August 16,1948 through the

vision an dforesight of the late Mayor Ponciano A, Bernardo. He believed that achievement of the

goals of a democratic society depends greatly on enlightened and educated citizenry. For the first 20

years,the Main Library was housed in a room in the old City Hall,then it moved to the New City Hall in

1972.It was during the administration of then Mayor Adelina S. Rodriguez,in 1982,that the Main

Library building was constructed inside the City Hall Complex. To date,there are 15 library branches

located in different districts/barangay’s around Quezon City.

Working in the Quezon City Public Library is like working in the mall as a stuff. You must have the

initiative to approach costumers or in Public library readers, so that they won’t waste their time finding

the book they want.Just like the stuffs in malls,instead of arranging vlothes,you will arrange books and

align it so it can look pleasing.I learned to be more initiative in doing my work so that I won’t be just

standing around doing nothing.I experienced a lot of new things like handling so much kids evey

immersion day that enhanced my patience towards them.I observed the company being mindful to their

trainee because whenever it is lunch time they would remind us to eat and take our time.There was only

one problem that I encountered when two of the kids fought and I hold on to the other kid until she

calm down for me to let go.I am more comfortable when it comes to entertaining kids so I was excited

when I knew that the public library that I’m assigned to has a lot of kids in the place.But it was

different in that place because the kids were more diffirent than I expected,they were

loud,naughty,difficult,and disrespectful.Even though the kids were like that I learned to adjust for them

and just smile on the silly things that they do that eventually made me more good at communicating

with kids.Looking back at the things that I’ve done in the public library,all I can say is that I will miss

the place and even all the people that I’ve interact with during my immersion days.It also makes me

feel as if I’m ready to work on a real job.

V.Recommendation

1.1To the Company-The company must educate the on the job trainee(students) before they step into

the library for them to be aware on what they will about to do.The company must be strict on their
trainee so that they won’t slack off.Lastly,the company must observe their trainees every action that can

help them do their job effectively.

1.2To the future Work Immersion students-The students must have good communication

skills,personality,and strategic thinking in handling programs for the childrens.Also,the students must

have the initiative on alining on books and cleaning the shelves.Lastly,the students must have the a long

patience in handling kids.
