MODULE CONTENT

UNIT OF COMPETENCY : Draft and Cut Pattern of Casual Apparel

MODULE TITLE : Drafting and Cutting Pattern of Casual


Apparel

MODULE DESCRIPTOR:

This module covers the knowledge, skills and attitude in


drafting and cutting patterns of casual apparel. It details the
requirements for planning garment design, taking body measurements,
drafting basic/block pattern, manipulating and cutting final pattern.

NOMINAL DURATION:

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the end of this module you MUST be able to:
1. Plan garment design for ladies casual wear.
2. Take client’s body measurements.
3. Draft basic/block pattern.
4. Manipulate pattern.
5. Produce final pattern.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
1. Client’s job requirements and garment design are determined
according to company’s practice.
2. Garment design and fabric are selected according to client’s
specifications and special needs.
3. Measuring tools are properly used in taking client’s body
measurements.
4. Proper procedure and sequence are observed in taking client’s
body measurements.
5. Company requirement/practice is observed in recording client’s
body measurements.

1. Types of measuring, drafting and cutting tools and their uses


2. Sequence and position in taking body measurements
3. Pattern preparation
4. Position in taking body measurement

Assessment Criteria

1. Measuring tools are prepared in accordance with job requirements.


2. Body measurements of client are taken based on procedures and
sequence according to job requirements and standard body
measurement
3. Body measurements are recorded in line with company
requirements/practice
