PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TYPICAL APPLICATION PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

ALKASIL SE is applied
· As soft handle agent in combination with cellulose of all native
and regenerated cellulose fibres as well as their mixtures with
synthetics.
· For soft handle finish of 100% wool and PES / WOOL mixtures.
· As softener to improve the elastic force
ALKASIL SE is a high-grade primary forms Silicone of textiles.
The following properties stand out for this product:
· Very soft, typical silicone handle with high surface smoothness.
· Low tendency to turn yellow.
· Supports the elastic force of mesh fabric.
· Improves the “wash-and-wear” effect in resin finishing.
· Good washing and dry cleaning stabilities.
· Improves the “wash-and-wear” effect in resin finishing
· Reduces the crush resistance of nonwoven.

PROCESSING TECHNIQUES

Dilution
ALKASIL SE can be diluted to any ratio with cold water; alkaline water should be acidified with acetic acid to pH 5.0 – 5.5 before adding
the product.

Padding Application

PROCESS PARAMETER OPERATIONAL RANGE

pH 5.0 – 5.5 (preferably adjusted with acetic acid)
Liquor pick-up Approx. 70 - 80 %

INGREDIENTS DOSE
ALKASIL SE 20.0 - 40.0 g/l

STABILITY AND STORAGE

1. ALKASIL SE is stable to hardening agents of water as well as acids and magnesium chloride.
2. ALKASIL SE is sensitive to slightly alkaline water and all forms of alkali.

3. ALKASIL SE is sensitive to temperatures above 40ºC

4. The product is very sensitive to frost temperatures around the freezing point cause irreversible changes.
5. The product will hold for at least six months if stored at 25ºC in tightly closed original packing.
