Oppose. The message of the video clip is that people should take public transportation whenever

possible: noise, smoke, and coughing at the beginning of clip when the man is driving; quiet, clean,

people sharing space when on the train.

represent? What effect do you think the creator was aiming for by using the sounds he or she used?

At the beginning of the clip we hear traffic, honking horns, and coughing which represents congested

traffic and exhaust fumes associated with driving. At the end we just hear the subdued rhythm of
train

wheels suggesting a calm, orderly and clean environment.

6. The producer/creator has purposefully used green couches set against black and white in the clip.
Why

do you think he or she did this? What do the couches represent? (strand ii) [2]

The green couches represent home emphasizing the message that the world is your home. Even
though

the people in the clip are riding on a train, the green couches make it seem as though they are sitting
in

their own living rooms. The green also represents sustainability.

7. Give three reasons to support the author’s opinion of the video clip that public transportation is

beneficial to us (strand i) [3]

Examples from the clip include but are not limited to less air and noise pollution, less congestion, and

smaller carbon footprint.
