SECTION 1
The Problem and its Background

1.1. Introduction

The trend of today’s generation is the so-called

technology improvisation which technology advances time to

time and expanding across the globe most likely to the

educational facilities. By the developers’ intention to assist

the school, La Consolacion College-Bais in the school

exams, the developers created the Student Online Exam

System which allows students to take exams online that are

created by their respective teachers.

1.2. Statement of the Problem

With the design and construction of the developed

system, it seeks to answer the following concerns:

1. Examinations are usually conducted in the

traditional manner (Tests are printed and

reproduced on paper, with the manual checking

and recording of outcomes.). This tends to

1
consume time and resources, specifically on the

part of the teacher.

2. As stated in the previous statement, exams are

usually conducted in the traditional manner, like

the delay of announcing the scores of students

who have taken the exam.

1.3. Objectives

1.3.1. General Objectives

The main goal of the study is to design,

construct and create a website/system that will not

only assist teachers in the conduct of school

examinations but also to assist the students in taking

the school examination and help lessen the time

spent during the school examinations.

1.3.2. Specific Objectives

The website that is being focused on seeks to

accomplish the following:

 To assist the Teachers in conducting of

school exams.

2
 To modernize the exam system of the

School

 Specify a privilege for each person to

allow each person use this system to

create his own exam. And have a

complete control on his exam.

 Allow each person to create more than

one exam with different way to create

variant questions.

1.4. Significance of the Study

The purpose of the study is to provide a secure and

automated exam for students also, saving time for the

teacher to prepare for exams (e.g. generating and checking

test papers). The study hope to enhance the way of

managing the exam and student information.

The study will enable the teacher to generate exam

questions online to be answered by the students and

calculate the exam scores automatically after the

examination. Also the study will enable the student to

3
answer exam test questions swiftly, easily, and neatly as

possible.

1.5. Scope and Delimitation

This study or system will only be limited to the various

Levels of Education in La Consolacion College – Bais City,

particularly towards the teachers of the said institution.

Furthermore, the site being developed solely is

designed to assist in examination delivery, specifically the

presentation of questions for the students to answer and

recording their responses.

SECTION 2
Systems Analysis and Design

2.1. Existing System

2.1.1. Analysis of the System

2.1.1.1. Advantages

 With exams, a person will be able to know

his performance and knowledge.

 For most people, exams may encourage

them to work and learn.

2.1.1.2. Disadvantages

 During the exam, a person may also have

problems with questions.

* Bad choice of questions.

* Irrelevant answers

 For most failure, who has got bad result, it

will affect their future.

 For some, it can change their character or

lead to suicide.

 But most lose confidence in themselves.

5
2.1.2. Operation Procedures

 If your house is far from La Consolacion

College then you have to travel..

 When you arrived at the said school

approach the Finance Office and ask for the

Test paper (For the quarter exam) in order

to take the examination. Pay your

responsibility at the finance office.

 After paying your responsibility go to your

respective classroom.

 Pray to the Lord and ask for the guidance

and concentration.

2.2. Proposed System

2.2.1. Analysis of the System

2.2.1.1. Advantages

 The Teacher can generate exam

questionnaire in a short time.

 The proposed system automatically

calculate and provides exam score

right after the exam.

7
 The Teacher can manage his/her time

has 2 or more classes to conduct to.

2.2.1.2. Disadvantages

 The proposed system can’t be

accessed or used if the computer has

no internet connection.

2.2.2. Cost Benefit Analysis

SECTION 3
Methodology, Results and Discussion

3.1. Requirements Analysis

10
3.1.1. Functional Requirements

Create a set of test questions with

corresponding answers and post it online.

Allows the student to answer the following

questions that is displayed in a personal

computer within a specified time limit.

Allows the system to calculate the test scores

to be given to the student right after the exam.

3.1.2. Non-functional Requirements

The users for the system will be the

teacher and the students. Both users must be

computer literate or had a little

knowledge about computers. The system requires

internet connection in order to be fully

functional and accessed by both users.

The system needs to be user-friendly that both

teacher and student can use the system directly

and swiftly. The system must be stored in the

Internet for the students to access the system in

11
any scheduled exams and also it makes easier

for the teacher to manage the information.

3.2. Requirements Documentation

3.3. Development and Testing

3.3.1. Development

Below are the process on how the system was

created.

3.3.2. Testing

12
The first testing is commented and suggested by Mr.

Miguel C. Catacutan, on December 15, 2017 through M.S

Powerpoint Presentation at 3:00 Pm at La Consolacion

College - College Computer Laboratory. He commented and

suggested that we can make another concept of our

The second testing is also commented and suggested

by Mr. Miguel C. Catacutan, on February 2, 2018 at La

Consolacion College. Basic Education Department (BED)

we should make our program simple.

3.4. Description of Prototype

Video provides a powerful way to help you prove your

point. When you click Online Video, you can paste in the

embed code for the video you want to add. You can also

type a keyword to search online for the video that best fits

your document. To make your document look professionally

produced, Word provides header, footer, cover page, and

text box designs that complement each other.

13
For example, you can add a matching cover page,

header, and sidebar. Click Insert and then choose the

elements you want from the different galleries. Themes and

styles also help keep your document coordinated. When you

click Design and choose a new Theme, the pictures, charts,

and SmartArt graphics change to match your new theme.
