FREEHA N D DRA WIN G
This is an introductory course in the freehand or non-mechanical method
will be presented in pencil, ink, and markers. It will utilize objects of interior
environment as a means of understanding various drawing principles and
familiarize the student with basic rendering techniques.

This course is directed towards giving the student a structured approach to
drawing the human figure, which will serve as a foundation for his or her
personal interpretive approach. Students will practice illustration of the
human body using gesture, contour, and modeling. There is an artificial way
to draw that is based on learning techniques and mannerisms; there is also
a natural way to draw based on close observation of the object being
drawn. This subject will be focusing on both the learned and natural
approach.

LIFE DRA WING


This course will strengthen students' skills in basic observational drawing
("drawing from life"). This course is designed particularly with the
animation student in mind, emphasizing acting and movement, but the
time-tested drawing techniques taught in class are essential for beginning
animators.

DIG ITA L ILLUSTRATIO N TEC HNIQ UES


This course is design for students with basic drawing skills who want to
develop their drawing skills more fully. Students will develop greater
flexibility, better technical ability, and a higher degree of expression by
using digital illustration software. Various drawing styles from cartoon,
manga, to realistic renderings will be explored.

TRA DITIO N A L A N IM A TIO N PRIN C IPLES


This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to the
principles of traditional animation and elementary character design.
Dimensional forms are used in the construction of solid, well drawn
characters and how to do animation works.

LAYO UT A ND STORYBO A RDING


In this course, the student will understand the importance of staging the
character on the background in a required scene based on the storyboard
and translate it into a format and size that can be utilized by the Animation
and Camera Departments. Layouting in animation is quite similar to
sketching and penciling in comics and comic strip in newspaper.
Eventually, the student has the possibility to perform the task after taking
up this course and an opportunity to become storyboard and concept artist.
2D DIG ITA L M ETHO DO LO G Y
This is course on the amalgamation of classical and digital practices in 2D
animation. This course stresses the importance of understanding the
fundamental principles of traditional 2D animation in its application to the
digital medium. These principles will be taught using Toon Boom and Flash.

3D DIG ITA L M ETHO DO LO G Y


This is course is similar to 2D Digital Methodology except focus is now
shifted to 3D. The principles will be taught using Maya and Photoshop.
