Topic: about favorite activities
Time Allowance: 80 minutes
Aim: to practice write a description about favorite activities
Objective: By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
 write a description a dream house by using “adverbs of frequency” ( knowledge )
 describe a dream house to their friends ( skill )
 Answer or reply the recommendation politely. ( attitude )
Lesson Opener
- The teacher greets the students, asks how they are, what they studied in the previous
lesson, and introduces the lesson today.
- The teacher says, “So today we will learn how to write about favorite activities”
- The teacher asks, “What is your favorite activity?”
I. Pre-writing tasks
a) Revising vocabulary
- The teacher elicits some vocabulary.
b) Reading comprehension:
- The teacher gives out the model description to every student.
- The teacher asks them to read it silently and answer the following questions:
 What topic talking about?
 What adverbs of frequency have?
 Who write these actives?
 What the false information? Can you guess?
My favorite activities

My favorite activities I always play sport with my best friend around garden. I get
up early in the morning and go to school. Then I often go to eat breakfast at 8:30am. I usually go
to work around 8am, sometimes I watch TV sport program with my family at night, and I almost
always eat dinner at 9pm. I never play game at night.
c) Revising target items
- The teacher asks the students to underline “Adverbs of frequency” in the description.
- The teacher asks the class to explain when Adverbs of frequency are used.
II. Main writing tasks
Task 1: Transformation
- The teacher asks the students to read the model description again and write similar
sentences.
Example
- I always play game at night.
- I usually play tennis with my friend
- I never go to gym alone.
- I hardly ever go to do exercise.
- Task 2: Parallel writing
- The teacher may go through the model description with the class and underline some
words and phrases which need to be replaced with new cues.
- The teacher asks the students to write a similar recommendation using the cues below:

Task 3: Free writing
- The teacher asks the students to get into pairs.
- The teacher asks the pairs to brainstorm and note down the places, adverbs of frequency,
Time and date, the kind of sports and favorite activates,
- The teacher asks the students to start writing favorite activities using the model
description as an example.
- The teacher asks them to swap their description, read them, and give some comments to
their friends to make their friends to make their recommendations look better.
- The teacher asks a few students to read out their own recommendation to the whole class.
III. Post Writing Task
- The teacher asks the students the following questions:
 Do you interesting with these activities?
 Is it important for people about favorite activities? Why
- The teacher asks the students to write own favorite activities that relate
- The teacher tells students to brainstorm place, Time, date, adverbs of frequency, and kind
of favorite activities.
- The teacher tells students to share idea with each other.
IV. Developing Positive Attitude ( 10 mins )
- The teacher go through the following question as a whole class:
A). it is a good idea to writing your favorites activates?
B). why or why not?
C). do you think write a favorite activities is interesting? Why or why not?
