General Instructions
1. All questions are compulsory.
2. The question paper consists of 28 questions divided into five sections A, B, C and D.
Section A comprises of 4 questions of 1 mark each, Section B comprises of 6 questions of
2 marks each, Section C comprises of 8 questions of 3 marks each and Section D comprises
of 10 questions of 4 marks each.
3. There is no overall choice.
4. Use of calculator is not permitted.

Section A

1. In the median of the data arranged in ascending order 8, 9, 12, 18, x + 2, x + 4, 30, 31, 34,
39 is 24. Then, find the value of x.

2. Write the class mark of the class 130-150.

3. In the given figure, ABCD is a cyclic quadrilateral and O is the centre of the circle. If
∠BOD = 160°, then find ∠BPD.

4. Find the radius of a sphere whose surface area is 154 cm2 .

Section B

5. In the given figure, ∆PQR and ∆PQS lie on same base PQ. If RS bisected by PQ at O, then
show that ar (∆PQR) = ar (∆PQS).

8. In a quadrilateral ABCD, two diagonals AC and BD intersect at O. If ∠DAB = ∠BCD =


60°, DO = 4 cm and AO = 5 cm, then find the value of AC + BC.

9. The height of a cylinder is 15 cm and the curved surface area is 660 cm2 . Find its radius.

10. In a cricket match, a batsman hits a boundary 5 times out of 20 balls he plays. Find the
probability that on a ball played, he does not hit the boundary.

Section C

11. The mean of 1, 7, 5, 3, 4 and 4 is 𝑚. The observations 3, 2, 4, 2, 3, 3 and 𝑝 have mean


(𝑚 − 1) and median 𝑞. Find the values of 𝑝 and 𝑞.

12. For a Mathematics test given to 15 students, the following marks (out of 100) are recorded.
41, 39, 48, 52, 46, 62, 54, 40, 96, 52, 98, 40, 42, 52, 60.
Find the mean, median and mode of this data.

13. In the given figure, ABCD is a parallelogram and T is the mid-point of AD. If
ar(quadrilateral ABCT) =45 cm2 , then find ar (∆TCD).

14. Two opposite angles of a parallelogram are (3𝑥 − 2)° and (63 − 2𝑥)° . Find all the angles
of the parallelogram.

15. Construct a rectangle ABCD, in which AB = 6.3 cm and BC = 4.5 cm. Measure its
diagonals.
16. ABCD is a parallelogram and AP and CQ are perpendiculars from vertices A and C on the
diagonal BD, respectively.

Show that ∆APB ≅ ∆CQD and AP = CQ.

17. In the given figure, ∆ABC is an isosceles triangle with AB = AC and ∠ABC = 50°. Find
∠BDC and ∠BEC.

18. Twenty seven solid iron spheres each of radius 2 cm are melted to form a new solid sphere.
What will be the surface area of the new sphere?

Section D

19. An insurance company selected 1600 drivers at random in a particular city to find a
relationship between age and number of accidents.
The data obtained are given in the following table.

Find the number of drivers
(i) In the age of 25-40 yr having more than 2 accidents in the year.
(ii) Whose ages are above 40 yr and having accidents more than 1 but less than 3.
20. The lengths of 62 leaves of a plant are measured in millimetres and the data is represented
in the following table.

Draw a histogram to represent the data given above.

21. E, F, G and H respectively the mid-points of the sides AB, BC, CD and DA of a
parallelogram ABCD. Show that the quadrilateral EFGH is a parallelogram and its area is
half the area of the parallelogram ABCD.

22. In a circular park of radius 25 m, three girls Neha, Preeti and Reshma are sitting at equal
distance on its boundary each having a cellphone and talking to each other. Find the
distance between Neha and Reshma. (Take √3 = 1.732)

23. Construct a ∆ABC, in which BC = 4.5 cm AB + AC = 8 cm and ∠B = 45°.

24. There is a visit in a school by Directorate of Education. Girls are asked to prepare Rangoli
in triangular shape. Dimensions of ∆ABC are 26 cm, 28 cm and 25 cm. Garland is to be
placed along the side of ∆PQR, which is formed by joining mid-points of sides of ∆ABC.

(i) Find the length of garland.


(ii) Which values are depicted here?

25. The area of the curved surface of a right circular cylinder is 4400 cm2 and the
circumference of the base is 110 cm. Find the height and radius of the cylinder.

26. A person has built a cubical water tank with lid and each outer edge is 2.5 cm long. The
outer surface of the tank excluding the base is covered with square tiles of side 0.25 cm
long. Find the number of tiles required.
27. How many cylindrical glasses of diameter 8 cm and height 15 cm can be filled with juice
from a cylindrical vessel of diameter 30 cm and height 64 cm?

28. Out of the past 250 consecutive days, if weather forecasts were correct 175 times. Then,
(i) What is the probability that it was correct on a given day?
(ii) What is the probability that it was not correct on a given day?
