Discussion of Agenda:
1. Leadership Training Seminar Proper
• The Leadership Training Seminar proper was started by USC Councilor Sarah Jane
Elago. She discussed fundamental matters pertaining to leadership by firstly defining
leadership per se; introducing the concept of Collective Leadership; and by applying all
learning to the UP context, most especially to VolCorps.
• After discussing the foundations of leadership, it was time to define and discuss what
makes a ‘good leader’. It was tackled by CSWCD Representative to the USC, Marie
Gold Villar. It was done through a creative skit competition between 2 participating
teams. Also, characteristics of a ‘good leader’ were asked to the participants.

2. Brief Planning
• After the Leadership Training Seminar proper, USC Councilor Kristine Borja presided
the brief planning of VolCorps.
• One of the pertinent matters tackled was the formulation of the VMO or Vision-Mission
and Objectives of VolCorps; however, it was realized by the body that the VMO concept
would not fit with the volunteerism culture of VolCorps.
• O.G.S.M. or Objective – Goals – Strategies – Measure was raised to be a more
appropriate concept for VolCorps.
• The primary nature of the USC VolCorps was discusses, such are the following:
 VolCorps being a Pro-Student, Pro-People, and Pro-Life group.
 VolCorps being a non-partisan service-giving body
 VolCorps being an altruistic group
 VolCorps being a group filled with fun and energy
