Ladies Bible Study


Tuesdays, at 9:30 am
PCC Chapel

Ladies Bible Study, begins the Fall session on Tuesday,


September 9th with “Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the
Fruit of The Spirit” by Beth Moore. This Bible study on the
Fruit of The Spirit focuses on Galatians 5:22-23. Beth walks
participants through each trait listed in the fruit and en-
courages women to know the freedom of a Spirit-filled life.
Family Services In August
Sunday Mornings at 10:00 am

In August, elementary kids will be with their parents in the Sanc-


tuary on Sunday mornings. There will be age-appropriate kids
bulletins, a prize table in the Foyer, special appearances by
Rovercomer the faithdog, and interaction from Pastors Ray &
St. John with the kids.

New Sunday Morning Schedule


Beginning September 7th, 2008, we will have a new schedule
for all of our Sunday morning services, classes and groups. We
are making these changes to accomodate the increasing atten-
dance throughout the church. As Portland Christian Center at-
tracts more visitors, we want to ensure that we can accomodate
everyone who attends PCC.

Labor Day Weekend


All Church Picnic
Sunday, August 31st, after the 10:00 am Service

Join everyone at PCC for one of the favorite events of the Sum-
mer. This year we are featuring the World Famous Buster’s
Texas Style Barbecue. If you haven’t had Buster’s Barbecue,
you’ve missed some of the best. There will also be inflatables
for children, and organized sports for youth and adults.

Purchase your tickets this coming Sunday. And don’t forget, we


always have a Family Ticket Pack.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for 11 years and under, 3 years


and under are free. Family packet is $25, for immediate family
members.
Portland CityFest
Two Full Days, One Big Party
August 22 - 23, 2008

Envision the largest party you’ve ever attended. Multiply at-

now one’s coming to our own backyard.

Robert Gray Middle School

Portland Christian Center will partner with Portland Public


Schools to help beautify the Robert Gray campus for fall. Join us
as we spend the morning spreading bark dust, weeding, prun-
ing and demonstrating the love of Christ to our own Hillsdale
neighborhood. Bring your gardening tools and a friend! Please

Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University Preview Night


Wednesday, August 13th, 7:00 pm

The Gospel of Mark


Begins September 3rd

Mark, the shortest of the four Gospels, tells us more about the
actions of Jesus than his teachings. This study will focus on
“Jesus, the Servant” as He is portrayed in the Gospel written
by Mark. The miracles, parables, teachings and rejection of
Jesus will be presented as we move through this fast-paced,
action-filled Gospel. Led by Rod Rider.

Grief Release

Begins September 10th
6:30 pm in Room 228
If you have experienced any kind of loss recently, whether it
be the loss of a loved one, letting go of a dream, or even losing
your hope and joy, then Grief Release is for you. Grief release
is led by Joanne Petrie, a nationally certified bereavement
facilitator, hospice chaplain, counselor, author and teacher.
Cost to attend is $35 per person, and we need a minimum of
12 people registered to offer this class.

Portland Christian Center Marriage Advance


October 3rd – 5th, 2008
Location: Hallmark Resort, Newport, OR

Save the date! You and your spouse will enjoy this romantic
weekend on the Oregon Coast. Mark your calendar now, and
plan to attend! Cost includes luxurious accommodations, three
meals, and all conference materials. Registration will begin in
August in the lobby. The best rooms usually sell out quickly,
so don’t delay!

Cost is $235 the conference and a standard room. ($250 after


9/5/08). For the conference and a deluxe room cost is $280.
($300 after 9/5/08). Packages includes two nights lodging,
conference materials and two meals.
Men’s Golf Tournament
Saturday, August 16th
Time: 7:45 am
Location: Claremont Golf Club, Portland, OR
Cost: $65.00

Men, enjoy a time of fun, fellowship, and a spirit of good-na-


tured competition at our annual golf tournament! Shotgun start
at 7:45 am, four man scramble format. Registration fee includes
18 holes of golf, greens fees, golf cart rental, catered lunch and
door prizes. Limited to the first 72 registrants, so hurry and sign

Panama Missions Building Trip


November 1st - 15th, 2008

There is no greater thrill than taking your life and investing it in


helping others. If you are looking for a chance to travel outside
the U.S. borders to another country, and desire to impact the
lives of others, the upcoming Panama Missions Building Trip
could be your opportunity.

To find out more about the Panama Missions Building Trip, at-
tend one of two Informational Meetings in August. The first
meeting is Sunday, August 3rd and the second meeting is Au-
gust 17th. Both meetings will be held in the Hospitality Center
immediately following the 10:00 am services. For further infor-

Henningsen Property Work Day
Saturday, September 13th, 2008, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

This work crew of adults will continue the cleanup of our newly
purchased property at the corner of Beaverton Hillsdale High-
way and Dosch Road.

We will be cutting and removing brush, limbs and debris along


the highway right-of-way. Due to safety needs, we need respon-
sible adults who can receive direction and follow instructions.
The result of this work day will provide a much improved view
of the rest of our property for people traveling along Beaverton
Hillsdale Highway. For those who wish to sign up or who have
