General
BEZAKTIV S dyes are reactive dyes with a bifunctional reactive group and their
particular advantage is their very good reproducibility. Due to their bireactive group they
are less sensitive to variations of the application parameters such as liquor ratio,
temperature, electrolyte, alkali and time.
Soft hot water of 80 °C is poured over the dye and a rapid stirrer is used. Hot and
concentrated dye solutions should not be left unattended for a long period of time. Urea
does improve the solubility of BEZAKTIV S dyes. Urea should not be added to dyeing
liquor at temperatures over 50 °C. Information about the solubility of the BEZAKTIV S
dyes is to be found in the shade
Card.
Addition of Electrolyte
Electrolytes increase the substantivity of BEZAKTIV S dyes and hence improve the bath
exhaustion. Common salt may reduce the dyestuffs' solubility. Therefore, we recommend
for BEZAKTIV Blue S-Fr 150 and in the case of phthalocyanine dyestuffs such as
Turquoise S-BF, to use Glauber's salt as a rule.
Dyeing Procedure
Due to the double reactive group of the BEZAKTIV S dyes, exhaustion temperature
should be 60 °C. BEZAKTIV Yellow S-8G, BEZAKTIV Blue S-Fr 150 and BEZAKTIV
Turquoise S-BF have a higher dye yield at a temperature of 80 °C. Because of the dyeing
profile of the BEZAKTIV S dyes, they can be combined with the BEZAKTIV dyes.
BEZAKTIV S dyes are also suitable for continuous or semi continuous processes. The
diagrams below provide information on the commonly used dyeing processes.
