This certification is a hardware support certification designed for field repair engineers who need to perform basic
troubleshooting, repair, installation, configuration, and/or verification of operation of HP ProLiant Server products.
The training for this certification provides familiarization with all HP ProLiant Server products, with an emphasis on
break-fix troubleshooting.

Target Audience:
This certification is aimed at Service technicians who work for HP or HP channel partners

Superseded certification and upgrade path:

APS – HP ProLiant ML/DL/SL Servers [2010] replaces APS – HP ProLiant ML/DL Servers [2007], which cannot be
acquired after 1 April 2010. Because of the new content in the training course and the numerous updates in the
products and programs, all candidates for the [2010] certification should complete the new training and must
complete the exam HP2-T17.

HP ProLiant systems are the world’s top-selling servers, and every third server sold worldwide is an HP server
according to the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Server Tracker. This high demand for HP ProLiant solutions creates an
opportunity for HP channel partners to provide hardware support services to customers. The person who holds this
APS certification is qualified to perform maintenance activities on the latest generation of HP ProLiant equipment.
