READING (Test Wednesday) We began reviewing long vowels last week. Reread story nightly as assigned. I
always recommend you “partner read” with your child. You are modeling good reading strategies as you share the
reading with him/her. Discuss the story, ask questions, and have your child “retell” the story to you. Vocabulary
words were sent home on the “Home Connections” page, in addition to a separate page. Test on story and
vocabulary Wednesday.
We will begin a new lesson on Thursday and a new story, Good-bye 382, Shing Ding Dang
MATH Please continue to review Daily Math Practice sheets found in the “Daily Editing” folder every evening
with your child. Weekly Friday quizzes are taken directly from these pages Review math facts. Some students
are diligently studying math facts and it shows in their class work. Please continue to study facts 0-12 with your
child NIGHTLY. Timed tests will be given periodically. We are continuing problem solving using R.I.C.E. and working
with collecting and recording data. Check assignment tablet nightly for additional homework.

**I reiterate the importance of studying DAILY EDITING sheets. Review changes made and ask your
child “why” those changes were made. He/she should be able to tell you the necessary changes made in
editing. We practice daily together in class. Friday tests will come directly from these pages.
**Also, DAILY MATH PRACTICE sheets should be reviewed. Friday tests come directly from these
pages.
